I stopped by on a whim while driving. I ordered the Vietnamese cold brew latte. The coffee flavor was good, but overall, it was a bit too sweet for me. I normally just drink black coffee or a cappuccino, so I'm sure it would be fine for people who like sweet coffee normally. I was a little disappointed at the selection, not knowing anything about it going in, I thought it would be like a real coffee place or at least have more options? They didn't even have a cappuccino.
I might go back to try a tea or plain coffee if I were in the area.

Fast service from friendly workers! My Vietnamese cold brew was DELICIOUS.
I wanted to try a bagel, but they didn’t have any gluten free options. They did have other gluten free foods available however, and also vegetarian/vegan.
Please get gluten free bagels/sandwiches/etc!!
Inside of the shop is super cute, good music and vibes. Definitely coming back!
Also, this shop is LGBTQ+ friendly.

Ordered a Vanilla Flat white, I think I recieved a regular flat white instead. I understand a new store is still working on trying to get everything right. But my cup didn't even a label or anythinf written on it, how does the barista know what to make?

As others have pointed out, this is a new business and you can expect some glitches. But I'm leaving this review in the hopes that the managers read it and address the issues, because otherwise I don't think the business will last and we do enjoy the drinks. We waited 25 minutes today for a simple cup of brewed coffee, and like others, we watched everyone who came in after us receive their orders first. We also ordered a tea latte and a croissant. The croissant eas ready after about five minutes and the tea came about ten minutes after that. Finally the cashier noticed we were still waiting and asked what our drink was and just poured it herself. The staff were pleasant but the wait was very long and it seems odd that our order was not filled together. Hopefully these things can be worked out in the future.

Coffee is great, location is good, prices are even better. Wait times are usually 20-40 minutes as of now. But understandable since it's a new location and very busy. I'm sure when staff gets the hang of it and they hire more staff it'll be 5 star.

Products are good, but they are VERY slow. I’ve been to many locations, and I’ve noticed whenever I order an iced tea, it always takes 20 minutes to make. People who order more complicated blended drinks get theirs in no time, but for some reason a one ingredient drink takes 3 times as long to make. After 5 people behind me got their drinks first I finally asked how long does it take to put tea in a cup? They had full pitchers of tea ready to go, so it’s not like they were waiting for tea to be brewed.

Despite the price is a bit high for a drink I love their latte and the lemon loaf 🩷
The location is really nice and the keep it clean 🤩

Super impressed with the service and the quality of the products! I have visited several times already and my drinks have been consistently delicious. Prior to their opening, the last 3 times I bought coffee elsewhere I had to throw them out because they were disgusting. It is so sad when you can order the same thing and never know how it’s actually going to taste. I don’t have to worry about that at CBTL. Not only are their drinks good, but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have been able to modify drinks for me, make good recommendations, and they work hard to get orders out even though they have been swamped at times.
On top of all this, the company itself is so generous! Get the app, there has been a discount or a dollar off every day I’ve checked so far. While Starbucks is making it harder to earn rewards, CBTL is rewarding you just for stopping by. Love it!

Today I went in and ordered a white mocha and hazelnut latte. After my order was skipped several times I spoke with the cashier who gave me an excuses for why my order was missed. I waited another 30 minutes watching everyone who has came after me leave. I asked again about my drinks and received rude responses as if I was the Inconvenience to them for wasting an hour of my time for two drinks. I approached the register and asked for my money back and suddenly my drinks were ready. I noticed my drink was darker than normal. The girl said that’s a mocha. I said I ordered a white mocha. She said oh yeah that’s been discontinued and smirked. Both drinks were terrible it almost seemed intentional and had I known what I wanted was discontinued I wouldn’t have wasted my time. I took the drinks that were made. The drinks were terribly made. I know it’s a new store but simple customer skills and empathy for my time especially when they have made the mistake, could go along way.

So happy bakersfield finally has a CBTL! I have been twice since they opened and both times were pleasant experiences, the first time I had the most wonderful barista named Elora taking my order who pleasantly acknowledged every customer coming and going while taking my order without messing up my order. She even gave me a friendly goodbye as I walked out of the store. My second trip was a mobile order and I walked into a jam packed store on a Sunday afternoon, the staff still greeted everyone they could see, customers were impatient due to the long lines but the baristas kept their cool with smiles on their faces. My drinks came out with no mistakes and the staff made sure to let me know how to claim my promotional free drink for the new location, plus I love that their drinks are organic and less sugary so I will definitely be going back to support them!
