Our group of 6 dropped into Grand View Cafe for a quick lunch before driving onto Anchorage. It served its purpose but was nothing remarkable food-wise.
I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and I should have known better than to get it in remote Alaska. While a sizable portion, it left a lot to be desired. There was nothing really remarkable about this dish compared to others I've had. They have an extensive menu with foods of all flavor profiles and origins. I would be open to trying something different as those in my group enjoyed their meals.
The service was a bit slow for what I was hoping for during lunch. There were two people inside working the front counter and one person cooking. With six of us arriving I expected it to be a bit slower but not as long as we waiting. Plus, one member of our group had their order get lost.
Our group sat outside to enjoy the views of the glacier and mountains around us. This did not disappoint and if you're stopping here for a quick bite and the weather is nice, absolutely make it a point to sit outside or at least by a window!

The food is very tasty, especially the beef noodle soup! The RV site and facilities are very clean and well maintained. The host couples are very nice and hospitable. Whether you are visiting the Matanuska glacier or just passing by, this is a great place to stay, rest and eat.

Stopped for chai tea and looked for dall sheep. It’s a very nice cafe with many options. We met the Asia lady owner and her husband. They are very friendly couple. Definitely worth to stop by for a snack break or lunch/dinner.

This review is for the campground. Clean, individual bathrooms but very tight. Pay showers. Foilage between sites, which is rare in AK! Good, gravel sites, mostly level. Full hookup site was $69. Campground is well kept. Surrounded by mountains!

A great camping facility nestled right next to matanuska glacier. They have coin operated showers and complimentary restroom facilities, both are kept pretty clean. The facility is operated by a lovely human being (Mark). He couldn't have been more hospitable from the time I booked the site. Very helpful and kind.
Also, food at the cafe is pretty tasty!!

Relaxing experience. We stayed for 5 nights and it was very clean. All the employees are very nice and have great customer service. also, there is a nice hike connected to the rv lot. The cafe is clean and friendly. They have a viewing station for the dall sheep.

Even with the clouds and the rain it was a nice stop. The restaurant area is very cheery and comfortable. Yes, the food is very good. if you take the short 10-minute walk, let me give you a clue. When you get to the sign on the path that points out the mountains, turn left and keep going. You can make it to the top of the bluff on a clear path. A little steeper.
