The Black Bear

This place is fantastic. The Breakfast Sandwich and Breakfast Bearito were tasty and filling. The house coffee and chai latte were delicious. We haven't had a full baked good yet, but both samples we had tried were very good. Wonderful customer service!

Excellent coffee and breakfast with a great outdoor seating area. Located on the main highway into Denali, and a short walk from multiple lodging options near the park. I particularly enjoyed their avocado toast and the flapjack pancakes.

Wow! At 10:00 in the morning the restaurant was packed! Even with all of the customers every staff member was pleasant and did not act rushed. Of course, it is Alaska and food is very expensive. Two eggs and toast for $9 was a little excessive, but they cooked it exactly as requested and got it to us in a timely fashion. One biscuit and gravy for $6 felt like a great bargain! And the biscuit was flaky, tender and cooked just perfect. We definitely recommend the Black Bear for breakfast!

I cannot say enough about this coffee shop/restaurant!!! Outstanding food ... good quality, gluten free and vegan options that are delicious. And the coffee ... amazing!!! Worth every penny spent here and came back almost daily!!! In Denali/Healy? I highly recommend the Black Bear!!!!

If I could just add a singing face here...
This breakfast is a full sensory experience in every bite. The eggs (cheesy delicious). The potatoes (crispy on outside, creamy on the inside). The flap jacks (cinnamony 100-yr old sourdough starter). Every bite had me singing inside. Seriously the best place for breakfast. I couldn't stop eating until the very least morsel left the plate.

Great place to grab a quick breakfast with many food and coffee options. The breakfast burrito was awesome. Would highly recommend!

This place is a total knock out. Super friendly staff, amazing breakfast, wonderful coffee, and pastries you can take to go. All at a reasonable price. Went twice in our 4 days at Denali, regret the days we had breakfast other places.

Loved the barista. He was extra diligent about my coffee order. Good on-the-go food and baked goods. We visited three times during our trip. Loved the Denali platter, gochugaru cheddar jalapeno scone, coconut cake and pecan coffee cake. Delicious coffee too!

This place saved our chilly day. Unlike many places in the area, it’s open on Tuesdays, and it’s incredible. We had the portobello mushroom sandwich, happy bowl, breakfast bearito, the daily soup (vegan creamy mushroom), sourdough flapjacks, and the buckwheat brownie. All were delicious! The vibe is warm and friendly, the prices are good, and the staff is awesome. Definitely stop here before or after your hike!

Excellent house made flavors for coffee! They elevated my caramel americano and I would buy it every day. They also made a delicious breakfast sandwich, smoothie, and muffins - my family was impressed and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast before our trip into Denali National Park. We had clear views, a sunny day, and Black Bear started everything off perfectly. Highly recommend when you visit Denali or drive through on your way north!
