Monarch is a great little coffee shop. It’s got a hipster vibe. They do poetry slams during the week sometimes. Coffee is always good and customer service is great. Cool place.

It's hard to decide what my favorite part about Monarch is! Great staff, amazing coffee, sweet music palying, and the most comfy leather couch...hands down my favorite place to grab some caffeine in Tuscaloosa! Glad they've opened up shop downtown!!

My favorite coffee shop!! There is always a friend insight and it has a very home like feel. Bring a friend and stop in for your favorite coffee drink and a treat from the box. My recommendations are an iced cuban latte with a fresh cinnamon roll. Monarch is my favorite coffee shop and I'm sad that I don't live in Ttown anymore because I can't go to Monarch for my after work pick me up or to catch up with friends.

TO GO ORDER: I ordered a Sea salt bagel w/avocado and butter = $6.38 (including $0.38 for liquor, I don't know what that was for). They were all out of Sea Salt bagels and I was offered Everything bagel. I opted for the Avocado toast (no egg). It was tastey. I'll have to try them as a dine-in to give a fair assessment.

Best coffee in Tuscaloosa. Monarch is a craft coffee shop, which focus producing a quality cup of coffee and a traditional European style espresso drinks. Most of the baked goods and treats are made from scratch. If you've been to a third-wave style coffee shop like Revelator/Octane in Birmingham/Atlanta, Monarch is in the same tradition.
