Absolutely adorable, loved the inside and outside of this place!

Coffee was pricey and yummy, but I’d love to come again.

The lids of the cold cup my husband got was leaking the whole time which was frustrating. Every time he lifted it to his mouth it would drip down his shirt. We will definitely bring our own cups next time, lol

This place is very pretty inside and has a wonderful vibe. Upstairs, outside, and downstairs seating is available. Service was great and people were very friendly. Breakfast, brunch, and lunch food in addition to coffee is available. The Croquet Monsieur is very good. The wedge salad is OK. They have super cute, little, 8oz coffees. But I ordered a Salted Caramel latte and it tasted like creamy regular coffee. A bit disappointing. I also tried a coffee cake muffin, which was super tasty on the top, but a little cakey/crumbly. Overall, I will definitely try it again and just order something different. Love the place and encourage others to visit.

This was my first time coming. Place is trendy and clean. Coffee is good and syrups are light. If you like sweet drinks this might not be the best for you. The chicken pot pie was good but the croque monsieur stole the show. Would highly recommend you get one (it has candied bacon so you have to), even while ordering the workers practically congratulated us on making the right decision. Don’t make the wrong decision!

What a great place to stop, have a bite to eat and handle work calls. The upstairs is open and invites conversation. The food was outstanding (Salad and Vanilla Oatmilk latte). I will definitely be back!

3.5/5 from me. I so wish half stars were an option -- I like the concept, the interior is beautiful and comfortable, and the service was sweet and lovely, but for me the product just didn't meet my expectations.

Lux Bru is a new coffee shop and hangout space right next to Terrame in Madison. The somewhat unremarkable brick exterior hides a beautifully and tastefully (if perhaps a little bougie -- it's not LUX bru for nothing, I suppose) decorated interior. Cozy and comfortable armchairs, traditional tables and chairs, and a view of the spacious upstairs loft greet you as you walk in. A coffee menu includes traditional drinks as well as speciality creations that change frequently, as I found out, somewhat to my disappointment. I'd seen they were offering a peanut butter cookie latte a few weeks ago but didn't see any sign of it when I visited. They also have a cafe menu with some upscale and creative offerings, like a dessert blackberry risotto or ricotta toast. Some standard coffeeshop baked goods (muffins, bagels, etc) are available too.

You can walk up to the counter and order. The two girls working on Wednesday when I visited were very pleasant and helpful. Sometimes I feel a little out of place in artsy, fancy, ~fashionable~ establishments, but they were nothing but welcoming. I enjoyed tucking myself into an armchair and people watching while my order was prepared. Despite being fairly busy, they got my drinks and muffin out quickly.

For me, the coffee sadly missed the mark. I will provide a HUGE caveat, though: I'm one of those people who likes a very sweet drink. Every coffee shop has a different style -- some do the dessert-y type drinks that I prefer, and others (and I suspect Lux Bru is among them) go for a more traditionalist, very coffee-forward vibe. That doesn't make it bad; just not to my preferences. The abuelita mocha I had just wasn't chocolatey enough for me. I couldn't really taste chocolate at all, myself. Mostly just bitter, but decent, coffee. The $5.50 price tag I felt...okay about. It's not unusual for me to pay $5-6 for a fancy coffee, although the portion size for the price was a little small, in my estimation (5.50 for 12 oz). However, some of that $ goes, I'm sure, to outfitting and maintaining such a nice hangout space.

For what it's worth, my coworker said she enjoyed her vanilla lavender latte that I brought back to her.

Lastly, I ordered a double chocolate chip muffin to snack on. It was also $5, which is pretty high for a small muffin that wound up being pretty plain. It was a little dry, but a quick nuke in the microwave back at work helped the chips melt which moistened the cake some. It was fine, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was store-bought, and I probably wouldn't get one again unless I was really craving chocolate.

I dunno. I am interested in trying their other wares -- a picture of a grilled cheese panini with tomato soup on Yelp seriously had me drooling -- so I may come back to give that a shot. The coffee is sadly not a fit for my tastes, but if you're a coffee purist who enjoys nice service and a comfortable space to hang out, work, or study, this spot may be a great fit for you.

Love the atmosphere at this place! I got a lavender iced latte w/ oat milk, and it was so so good!! They even make their own syrups, so I was really happy about that. Was a bit pricey, my drink came out to be around $8. Tho that seems to be the norm nowadays. Will be back!!

SO GOOD!!! People were nice, relaxing atmosphere. Place was clean and nice.
COFFEE WAS GREAT!!! Not overly sweet, actually tasted like coffee. Blueberry muffin was fantastic. Raspberry coffee was pink, it was great. I am for sure going back here.

What a beautiful cozy cafe! It was the perfect spot for my business meeting! I love the Christian music playing and the suoer sweet, kind employees. We felt so loved on! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was so peaceful! The owner is a beautiful lady inside and out! Can't wait to go back and bring friends.

Never again. I swung by this place to get a latte before work. I was the only person there except a man on his computer. Customer service was terrible. It took several moments before the young guy to acknowledge I was there because he was talking to a coworker to taste a coffee. Then it took them even longer to make it as they continued to talk. I also paid almost $8 for a "medium" latte that is pathetically small.

When I first walked into Lux Bru I was struck by its elagant and stylish art deco interior and well lit dining area. The staff is friendly, engaging and, professional. The tasteful and modern mezzanine/loft layout offer a good mix of privacy or social engagement, depending on what you're looking for, so its a good place to hang regardless of whether you're with a group or by yourself. The food is more than acceptable, and the baristas know exactly what they're doing. My only criticism is the radio to be tuned to a christian rock station, which clashes with the rest of vibe of the establishment (perhaps a smooth jazz or classical playlist would be more fitting), but I suppose that comes with the territory since we're in alabama, and that's just my subjective opinion, so this is still a 5 star review.

Regardless, this is a super cool spot. Their macha is top tier.
