Sorely lacking in customer service. This place is NOT handicap friendly (or friendly at all). After finishing my subpar meal (with fair service), while waiting for my mother to use the restroom, a man (turns out it is THE OWNER!) comes over and tells me in a rude tone that "the cushions are for decoration only"... WHAT?!? THAT IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING EVER!!! Why would anyone put a seat cushion on the back of a booth... for decoration... I have no left hip joint and need to sit on a cushion... Here, I thought I was the only one smart enough to use said cushion the way it was intended. Oh well. Back to the food. They don't know the difference between a chipotle aioli and a roumelade. Their roumelade (and chipotle aioli) is not even made in house. The apple pie was the worst. The apples were undercooked and the only flavor was artificial vanilla? The salad was good. They don't know how to make a sandwich. On the pastrami sandwich, there was nothing between the meat and bread (that's where the mustard should go) and only a tad of mustard that got lost in the cheese which made the sandwich dry... All said and done, only pretentious hipsters would be comfortable here...

Arrived at 10:15, wasn’t helped for 15 min, finally someone comes over and said we would have to wait until lunch at 11. Missed the 10:30 cut off for any other places. Terrible service:

The Standard might be small, but that's the point. It's an intimate environment for great food and drink. Great menus and wine selections make it something Huntsville, particularly downtown, has been in great need of for years. The service is excellent, and once you've been there a few times, you'll feel right at home every time you walk in the door.

I’ve been to the places in Nashville and Atlanta and Los Angeles that this place is trying to be, and it didn’t succeed.

They got the hipster atmosphere mostly right with the shabby chic decor, though the metal Costco pantry shelves detract a little. And they’re happy to sell you overpriced candles and tea.

We were told there was a 10 min wait when we got here, so we put our name down and then went to sit down on their couch to wait, after which we were told that was considered a “table” and to wait elsewhere.

The food itself is a miss. I started with an alcoholic “Breakfast Coffee”, which had more vodka in it than anything served at Campus 805. My GF ordered a regular coffee, which took 15 mins because they ran out of clean cups.

We ordered a fried green tomato starter. It was the only good part of the meal.

I ordered Steak and Eggs and a Pancake. Everything came out cold. The steak and eggs were bland and unseasoned. The potatoes were dry. The pancakes may have been good if they were warm.

Not worth the price, will not be back.

The Standard does a lot of things well. Great breakfast and coffee, healthy lunch options, and a great dinner options with different specials each night. The full service bar is nice as well to have a cocktail after work or on the weekend. Also very friendly staff and great atmosphere highly recommend.

Food was really good! Was a bit disappointed that the pot roast was no longer on ther menu...

The lettuce on my wife's quinoa dish was wilted, the special jambalaya was tasteful but ordinary, the bloody Marys were about average (the mint garnish was also wilted). Overall, nothing to write home about but a nice, very casual atmosphere. Service was spectacular so that deserves an extra star, otherwise this would have been a three-star, average place.

Food was good, but it was $10 for 1 biscuit with gravy and maybe half a cup of potatoes. Who cheaps out on potatoes? For the same money I can get a lot more elsewhere, and similar quality. Atmosphere was nice, but I felt like the owner was shooing us out. We hadn’t taken very long to eat and we had family in from out of town. Probably not going back.

Went to this place for lunch. It was just okay for me. Got the vegan power grain bowl and felt like they skimped me on it… didn’t fill me up and tummy is still grumbling. For $16.99??? I think not. The environment is nice though.
