Shipley Do-Nuts

I moved from Houston, Texas, where Shipley Do-Nuts is very popular: there is one in every corner… it has been my favorite doughnut place! I was super excited to find it here in Hoover. The quality of the food is as good as it is in Texas, but their schedule is not. They were closed the fist time I went (I learned that they don’t open on Mondays) and the second time I got there at 2:01pm, and they were closing 😞 (they close at 2:00). Very disappointing when you wish to have fresh doughnuts with a cup of coffee in the afternoon. Both times I ended up going to Krispy Kreme (around the corner).

Took my son here for his "first visit", ( he had been multiple times as a small child but didn't remember) We both love it. The staff is friendly, and willing to answer any and all your questions. You'd be surprised how many doughnut questions a 13 year old boy can come up with. They happily answered all of them, and quickly filled out order. Stop by, and enjoy their amazing sweet treats.

I highly recommend this place.

When the pandemic hit, I was told my favorite breakfast in Birmingham - Shipley's Sausage, Cheese and Jalapeno Kolache - was going to be a little different because of disruptions in the pork processing business. Two and a half years later, they are still using what tastes like a cheap hot dog and calling it Sausage. I keep going by every month hoping they will change back, but no such luck. I'm not a donut person, so I'm still looking for a new favorite breakfast in Birmingham.

So delicious, definitely worth stopping.

I always love Shipley 's . Today was different. I don't know why the gentleman waiting on me seemed to be offended to have me in his store. I will not give them another chance.

Shipley's is awesome. The donuts are good, but the real reason I go there is for the Kolaches. Service is always good.

We went at 10 am on Sunday and they were out of a lot of things...because it's all THAT good.

The services is great and they are never out of my Bavarian cream filled. . . Like crispy cream can be; nor do the limit the selection. Always faster the CC across the street. I've been going for the last 12 years.

They deserve a seat belt to keep them safe.

Woke up Sunday morning wanting a cinnamon roll. Theirs had no icing or cream cheese frosting not even the donut frosting. They were good but no icing play games with my taste buds. Service was good and fast.
