Sweet and delicious. The coffee is very good too.

It might say beignets but it isn’t France, rude, a bit creepy and uncomfortable but I figured eh it’s Alabamy so I’ve learned in a week not to be surprised the southeast has a reputation I think because of Alabama

Reading the reviews, I was expecting an ornery man running the shop. I was happy to find that the man working the counter was very friendly. The filled beignets were our favorites. The regular beignets were flat and overcooked... not amazing in the least. A dozen filled were around 17 bucks. Regular were about 10 bucks a dozen. If you're in the South and wanting to try beignets, this is an okay place to check it out. Personal opinion: beignets are over-hyped homemade donuts (yes, I've had them from Cafe Du Monde-- still,
over-hyped ). Save some money and make them yourselves.

Went this morning. Not a fan. Although they looked appetizing, they were not. I believe they need to either change the oil they prepare them in more frequently and/or vary the recipe. They tasted sour. As if they were made with sourdough batter. Or the oil is very old. They were very thick and chewy, not light and fluffy. Parts of the beignet were also not completely cooked.
I also thought it was odd, that the cashier)wait person asked me if I wanted to leave a tip, immediately after telling me my total. I have spent YEARS in the restaurant business, and you NEVER ask a customer if they want to leave a tip. Especially if they are ordering at a counter/with a cashier type of set up. Very unprofessional of her.
The receipt I received had a space designated for a tip, so it made no sense at all to ask about leaving a tip. I was not impressed.
The paintings that were for sale on the walk was the best part of this experience.
Save your money, buy Pillsbury biscuit dough, and fry it. It will be better than what you will get there.
Just keeping it real.

We arrived at 11:20 ... first words out of owners mouth were we're getting ready to close ....the poor waitress quickly served us our beignets and swept the floor and took our money while the owner was standing there waiting for us to leave. The owner was the same way last year. We were treated rudely by him and his business should be reported to better business bureau as he does nothing to add to the friendly atmosphere and people that we have come across in our seven years wintering here. In my humble opinion the owner is an ass! If he dislikes people and his business so much he should sell it

Really great beignets, got 3 regular and 3 chocolate with fillings. They were well prepared and delicious.

I hesitated to go to this beignet Cafe because of the reviews on the owner. But, I went anyway and was pleasantly surprised by Fish, the new owner! He came from behind the kitchen to talk to us. And had a great conversation with him.

The beignets are tasty but the man who owns it / cook is such a dick. The waitress was great but, in front of everyone, he berated her loudly about the way she entered things into the cash register. When we were checking out he asked us what we had and then promptly overcharged us (which seemed purposeful since we had JUST told him what we ate). When we told him, he never said sorry, seemed irritated that we'd ask for our money back, and then threw the $3 at my husband. We won't go back.

Delicious beignets and muffins! We tried the filled beignets, lemon cranberry muffin and normal beignets and all were delicious. My brother got coffee and liked it! Service is fast and friendly and the owner is a joy. Great place for breakfast for locals and vacationers in gulf shores!

This was our second trip, and the food was good. I notice that someone mentioned the cashier asked about leaving a tip... I also felt that was odd, but that seemed to be when the person was paying with a card. The regular beignets we're good and so we're the filled. The filled ones we had we're a little chewier, but still tasty. I have never had beignets before, but I would go back again.
