Hector's is some of the best, freshly prepared around. Not only is it a truly lovely Cuban restaurant, the food is made with heart. Everything is so fresh and so authentic - it took me back to youth of eating fresh Cuban food from stalls and carts back in NYC. Absolutely a 10/10. Beautiful, cozy atmosphere. The staff are engaging, and welcoming. It felt like stepping into the home of a friend: warm, comfortable, and easy going. The ability to dine in or take away is wonderful, and so is the outdoor seating. This is a gem in a place that would never be suspected. Do yourself a favor and step away from the familiar, and get some yucca root fries or fresh Cuban pastries made daily - literally everything on this menu is amazing. Cannot say how much I would suggest Hectors. Looking forward to returning multiple times.

First time trying this after hearing so much about it. I had the coconut wrap. And it was phenomenal! Son got the quesadilla and husband got a bowl. They were disappointed in their food. The salsa wasn't our favorite either. Service was friendly. Definitely order ahead, the wait was a little long

This picture is kids nachos. Cuban sandwich was good. Service was very friendly.

Excellent food and service! My husband had a Cuban sandwich, and I had the bowl with Colombian style pork. The menu is varied, and desserts looked delicious. We were too full to have dessert, so we took an empanada with us for later. We will definitely be back!

Amazing flavors!! Best food in town. Hector and his staff are amazing. Always fresh ingredients. The flavors are unlike anything you can get anywhere else.

The staff is like family. If you ever have to wait on your food just know it's being prepared fresh and it's worth the wait.

If you're new here, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the Coconut Wrap or a Columbian Plate are two of the most popular. The jalapeno cheese sticks are amazing. Ask for 1,000 Island dressing to go with them and thank me later. This place is a must!!

Our appetizers and entrees were SO DELICIOUS that I forgot to take pictures!! We had the beef empanadas, croquettes, and mofongo (pork). Everything tasted amazing!! Our table of 4 wished that the food temperature would have been a little hotter with the entrees and the soup that came with them, but that was a very minor complaint. I drive an hour from home to eat here, and I will definitely be eating here again!
UPDATE: Returned 1 week later to add photos of entrees!

This is a Cuban restaurant. A hidden treasure in this town! The atmosphere is warm and is very stylish. It’s clean and the staff is very friendly, Stephanie was very nice and helpful. It’s eat in or walk up window on the outside if it is crowded inside.
I got the chicken nachos, they were very good, white cheese, salsa, black beans, and sautéed vegetables. The Cuban sandwich was excellent, authentic bread and great tasting.
I would recommend this place if you are looking for something different, Stephanie said the food is not spicy, and you will find things like coconut wraps and plantains, so check it out.

Where do I even start?!?! My husband and I drove over an hour to try Hectors Kitchen for the first time. It's Veterans Day and we are both Veterans. This place did NOT disappoint!
We started with chips and salsa and the empanada. I then saw they had jalapeño cheesesticks and got back up to order those.
The salsa was chunky and I hate chunky salsa. It looked like it would be bland. Boy was I wrong! I absolutely LOVED it! Full of flavor!
The beef empanada came with sauce (as did our other dishes), it was not needed! The empanadas were AH-MAZ-ING!
SO glad I got back up to order the jalapeño cheesesticks! They were the best cheesesticks EVER!
For our main dishes, I ordered the Carne asada and hubby got the Cuban sandwich. He said the Cuban was "okay", but to be fair, he doesn't care for that kind of food.
My Carne Asada was the best ever! NOTHING about that dish was lacking flavor!!! NOTHING! The plantains were sweet and savory but not too sweet. The fried plantains had cilantro and other seasonings. My rice was so full of flavor and the black beans as well! The meat was tender and I just mixed everything together and ate it because I couldn't decide what to eat first lol There was so much food that I made 3 meals out of it!
The girls at the front were SO friendly! The bathroom was very clean and so cute! They have outside dining, inside dining and a take-out window. The whole place was clean. Prices were very fair and I have not one single complaint.
Thank you SO much for a perfect lunch on our special day!

EXCELLENT! Authentic Latin food in the middle of rural Alabama. I am thinking about driving an hour and a half back to have another meal. Worth the trip!

Great south American type food. A busy place at lunch. Limited seating but we all got squeezed in. Only reason for 4 on atmosphere is it was a cold day and each time door opened a rush of cold air. They do not have a vestibule to help with that. A great lunch place!
