We stayed here for a night during our 3 week cross country trip, this was one of our favorite stops. What a beautiful view in the back and the cabin was just perfect. Super clean, loved the decor and the paninis at the office we had were fabulous! We cant say enough good things about this gem. If were ever back in WY I can promise well stop here again. It is one of the places we fell in love with on our trip. If your thinking about staying here let me help you decide..YES you should do it, you wont regret it. And the drive through the mountain is just gorgeous also.

Stayed in a "glamping" tent, not worth it. Pitch your own tent for cheaper as the set up ones let bugs in like crazy and dont even have the decency of a fan. Alright bed if the insects and heat let you get any sleep. Bathrooms generally cleaner than most campgrounds but worn out.

Our long weekend at Shell Cabins + Campground was amazing! Our cabin was clean and cozy. The amenities of the campground were great and as promised. We also loved the food and service at the new Shell Store! Absolutely a don’t miss. 😊

While camping locally our hunting group stopped by at least a dozen times for odds and ends, some of our party stayed there overnight. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Prices are very reasonable for a small business that provides so many services. They are even able to assist with conservation tags and were easily able to provide information regarding Wyoming Fish and Game licensing. Great place to stop for anything! If they don't have it they will gladly point you in the right direction.
As far as reviewers with negative comments go they need to understand that this is how they are making a living, this is not a state campground.
I will be returning any time I pass through.

The place is nice clean and beautiful with amazing sunset view. I will definitely stay again if I have a chance to visit this place again

Shell Campground has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. The cabins are spotless and so comfortable and the owners are welcoming and helpful. Wish we stayed longer, but we plan to return!

Kevin and Emily are very wonderful and hospitable people! Our stay was great: the facilities are nice and clean, the location is great, and the office conveniently has some snacks and supplies for sale. I would absolutely recommend Shell Campground for a place to stay and feel welcomed!

After traveling through Bighorn national forest (3 hours of hot ,desolate mountains and road construction with NO bathrooms) I desperately needed to use the restroom. This was the only business (other than an extremely run down saloon with a broken septic system ) in town. This campground's bathrooms were locked, so I went to the desk with my young son and politely asked to use the restroom. The owner and (his wife?) Sat in their comfy, air conditioned 2-story cabin and claimed they had no bathrooms available. Wow ! The least any human can do for another is share a drink of water and restroom. Shame on you !

Response to owner's reply:
You have indeed proved my point better than I could ! Your response shows the lack of graciousness and human kindness I received upon asking to relieve myself. Well done.
As for "mischaracterizing" the situation....perhaps you should reconsider. You claim to show "hospitality" ...but do you know what that means ? It is "the quality or disposition of treating guests or strangers in a warm, generous way ". I don't see "paying customers " listed, do you ? Not sharing a Restroom is your perogative, but perhaps you should not claim hospitality as a trademark of your business since you don't meet the criteria.
As for your delicate septic system, I can assure you that, though I needed to "pee" quite badly, it wouldn't have filled your septic ;)
And in response your claim about 3 rest areas....try reading my original comment again. I said CONSTRUCTION was part of the problem. If I am past the rest areas, then sit hours in road construction, guess what ? I am still PAST the rest areas.
As for small business and Understanding the inner workings.....I helped create, own, and operate a small business myself...and I allowed visitors to relieve themselves without buying even the smallest item....and it was the employee restroom to boot ! Pretty cool, huh?
Last , if you had offered to let me make a small purchase in exchange for relieving myself on your golden commode, (rather than mentioning such an option only on Google reviews ) I would have. As it stands, I found another small business who welcomed me to use their restroom.
Farewell, and best "flushes" to your business.

Beautiful quiet little place. We weren't able to get there before the office closed so they will leave your info in a mailbox. We loved the Big Horn mountains on one side and stream on the other. Glamping at its best!
