Coal Train Coffee Depot

The staff is really kind and have good suggestions for those that are indecisive like me. I had a cinnamon brown sugar flat white and it was delightful. The grilled cheese breakfast sandwich was amazing as well!

The cinnamon roll apple pull-apart was very good and the cinnamon roll bread pudding was excellent. The grilled cheese could be on white bread instead of sourdough and was excellent. Staff were also accommodating with water etc. Nice place in the former Rock Springs Union Pacific Railroad depot.

Quaint, scenic place, and I had read good reviews of it, so I thought I'd give it a try. Mid afternoon, so the place was empty. I ordered a cold cut sandwich. It seemed to take quite a while for the food to emerge from the kitchen. I was disappointed to find a very bland and uninspired sandwich. It had Miraclewhip, lettuce and onions on it. Pretty sure that it was supposed to have tomatoes, and no onions. I mentioned this to one of the staff. A few minutes later, somebody came out of the kitchen and apologized for running out of tomatoes. Didn't really matter anyway. The roast beef was full of gristle, so much so that the whole piece of meat pulled out of the sandwich when I tried to bite a piece out of it. Due to the overall quality and presentation of the food, I decided that it wasn't worth finishing, and left most of it on the plate. In other words, I won't bother to come back.

GREAT train station conversion with friendly staff and good beverages! This is a surprisingly cute little town and this cafe is a comfortable place to take a bit of a break.

Friendly staff, good food/price, quick service. Try the energy bites, they're good and only a dollar!

Not that it impacts me, but there is also a play space for younger children.

Nice little coffee shop with great environment.
If you are visiting downtown Rock Springs stop by this lovely little shop. They have a nice drink selection as well as breakfast items. I had the chia tea latte and it was quite enjoyable.
If you are into train spotting this is a great place to just sit and watch the freight trains as well. Unlike a lot of the other renovated freight depots I have been in this one is fairly quiet and never felt the need to hold my drink and watch the table bounce around like others I have been in.
Decor is really well done and there is even seating for groups of 8. Has a small library as well. There is patio and outdoor seating.

Great coffee, friendly staff, historical building

I'd like to thank the team at Coal Train Station for opening up their shop for our classroom Union farewell coffee. Everything was wonderful even the atmosphere was cool thank you so much.

Great coffee and food. You can also pick up some cute gift items. Love the history of the building. Best Dirty Chai this morning!

The French toast was delicious as was the mango smoothie!!! We liked the bacon burrito too! Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!!!
