I have stopped in here a few times. The breakfast burrito is tasty and the meat lovers platter special is full of protein. The cooff is hot and black, like you should expect from a cafe. There is outdoor seating if you want a burger for lunch. The staff was floating around making sure that everyone was taken care of.

Looked like a nice place. Was recommended by my son who lives here. Must have been a bad day. We waited 20 minute , although not that busy , to get a menu . Food arrived quickly after ordering but was undercooked and swimming in grease. Pancakes ok but a bit dry and tasteless. Server quick to give me my check and did not even ask if food was ok and picked up my full plate without any acknowledgement. Paid in full and even left a tip but won't return

The atmosphere at 17th Street is down to Earth and welcoming, although the dining room does get quite hot in the summer. The wait staff were attentive, getting our orders early and refilling our drinks frequently. There was some miscommunication that led to an order of pancakes arriving very late, but they took $2 off the bill for the trouble. The food is well worth its price. The French dip was piled high with a generous amount of roast beef and melted cheese. The shrimp were cooked well, equal parts crispy and succulent. The cafe's signature green chili was a perfect complement to an omelet and hash browns. We were particularly impressed by the onion rings that tasted almost like Japanese tempura. 17th Street Cafe isn't breaking any records, but all in all, they offer a satisfying experience.

I used to love coming here, but today I ordered poached eggs expecting a delicious soft yolk to dip my toast in. What I got was two eggs with the yolk cooked all the way through- essentially hard-boiled. It was awful. I asked the waiting staff if I could get a replacement since it was clearly not cooked properly and was told that "This is how we poach our eggs here. It's never been this way anywhere else I've worked. It goes in the microwave and that's just how it's done. We can charge you if you would like a replacement". I was amazed that the waitress knew how a properly poached egg should look and still told me I could pay for new ones. I used to come here a lot and won't be returning. I will also be telling others about my experience.

Amazing food!!! It’s so pleasant to sit outside and eat. Such friendly people too!

A great, no-frills local spot with excellent biscuits and other breakfast selections. Definitely would recommend this place after a night on the town. I also can't say enough about the excellent service from an exceptional young waiter.

Very good green chili and nearly perfect french fries are just two of the highlights here. The decor is plain but that's not why you go to a diner. You won't be disappointed.

I am disappointed in this restaurant. I’ve heard great things about it, and I would have liked to give it a great review, but my experience was awful. We were seated down, and about 20 minutes passed and no one waited us or came to help us. Another family was sat down and they were given menus and help right away. Not to mention there was a lot of flies as well. I probably won’t ever come back to this establishment again.

Mediocre is a stretch to describe the chicken and biscuits. The chicken was just a small chicken tender that was almost certainly from a frozen bag. Their breakfast quesadilla was redemption worth though! It was a large, egg filled and came with a surprisingly good green chili sauce. If I come back, I’ll certainly avoid the chicken.
