River Cafe

We ate at the River Cafe yesterday and had an incredible experience. The food was very good, the service was great (special thanks to Logan) and the environment felt cozy! We have ordered their fish fry in the past as a to-go order and have always been very pleased. Whether you eat at the restaurant or choose a to-go order, you will not be disappointed. This sweet restaurant delivers everything you would want in a hometown cafe and more!!

The food was excellent. The place was packed but the staff treated us like we were the only customers. Very attentive!!!! Would highly recommend eating here!!!!

Very busy on Fathers day but we got a seat. Great service, and Great French Toast. Usually 2-3 slices at most places, this serving was 4.

Cozy Cafe very friendly atmosphere great service prices are reasonable. You get a large portion. You wouldn't leave hungry 😋 I recommend everyone I go!!

Solid place to go for breakfast. Both the service and the food were good and we had our food pretty quickly.

Although the food is somewhat ordinary, it appears to be very popular. Sunday morning breakfast was very busy and noisy at times.

Had a waitress that was on her second day not know what to do. Came up to our table three times to try to take an order. Finally one of the older waitresses can you take our order. Then when we got our food I've been into my Denver omelette only to find that there was eggshell in it. My guess that was eating with me got the Wisconsin cheese steak omelette and the meat was so tough he could not chew. I finish my own meal and continued to go to the cash register to pay. When I was asked how it was I said it would could have been better. After explaining I was given a discount. In order to improve this restaurant may need to have a well experienced staff as not once did they ask to refill my water.

Always a great breakfast, good portions and reasonable prices. Even when they are really busy they take care of you.

The BEST FISH I have ever had!!! We moved to the area a few months ago and kept hearing about River Cafe's fish. We finally tried it tonight and it definitely lives up to the reputation that precedes it. My kids do not like fish so I usually have to make them eat it. They loved this fish! What?! My kids loved eating fish?! Yes!!! The baked potato was great, the bun was nice and soft (my kids favorite) and the coleslaw was creamy. Friday Fish Fry at River Cafe is our new favorite family tradition!!! Thank you for such a wonderful take home option in Trempealeau!...and you are right, the fish doesn't get soggy!!

Wonderful and attentive staff. Hands down the best pancake I have ever had. My friend said the Eggs Benedict had the best hollandaise sauce she ever had too. Definitely a gem of deliciousness.
