This is a terrific coffee shop in a beautiful location. It’s only to-go at this point, but the space has a wonderful vibe for collaboration and caffeine.
We enjoyed our drinks and our food. The bagel and lox was good, but not great. The breakfast sandwich with bacon was really special though.

This place is ADORABLE.
I was in Madison for a college visit and saw this on our drive in. I looked it up and it had great reviews so I wanted to stop by on the way out (I also love a good coffee shop). They have a great view of the Capitol building, too! We went as soon as it opened so we could get the freshest possible coffee and food. The workers were incredibly kind, bubbly and very welcoming. They had good prices and plenty of options. I got the cold brew and it was great. In addition to their coffee, they had AMAZING FOOD. I decided on the ham & brie sandwich and it was a great decision. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. They also had pastries and other small things. I 100% recommend stopping here!

Really delicious lattes. The vanilla latte is definitely very vanilla (maybe so much so that it a wee bit bitter). And, in contrast, the maple latte didn’t have as strong as a maple taste as one might anticipate. Finally, the latte art varied from day to day (see photos). Otherwise really nice staff, and interesting assortment of beans. Wish they had more natural process beans than washed processed.

Cute coffeeshop with great flavors. I found this shop while explore the Capitol area and was drawn by the minimalistic wood interior. The cashier and baristas were very nice and helpful even when my order wasn't processed and I had to wait for a bit. However, my vanilla iced latte was wonderful and worth the wait. They also had free sparkling and normal water — which is cool to have these choices. I enjoyed my experience and the coffee!

I've come to Wonderstate Coffee twice now, and it's easily become my favorite coffee shop in Madison. The employees are all very kind and passionate about the coffee they serve. They will take the time to tell you more about the coffee they serve, where it comes from, and what flavor profiles they have.
A huge selling point is they do have some single origin coffee beans! Mostly used for their pour overs, you can ask them what they have in the moment and they'll give you more information about it.
I tried a single origin coffee from Kenya and it was a lighter roast with some sweet and citric tones to it. This ain't your average Starbucks coffee...
Additionally, I tried a salted Caramel Latte and it was the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. (FYI the latte art looked much prettier before my clumsy self walked this over to the nearby table...) Their salted chocolate chip cookie was also way better than most chocolate chip cookies I've had in the area. And fresh, too!
They also have several coffee beans available for purchase, and several brewing equipment available in store to buy as well. Check this place out if you're a coffee lover!

What a nice little visit I had. The bright, fresh, clean space was very inviting. The menu serves your vegan and gluten free friends so everyone can come. Normally I need to sweeten my lattes, but the maple oat milk latte was perfect on its own, beautifully poured into the cup. I also had the avocado toast which comes with one poached egg on top and greens for a side and it was delicious. I'm definitely coming back for more early morning friday coffee dates. The person at the register had the same name as me and we celebrated a little together. Lol it was a fun moment. Everyone there seems to be happy to work there. I hope that means they are being treated fairly and paid properly.

I love the coffee here! I’ve had cold brew and an oat milk latte and they were both perfection. The vegan bagel and lox is to die for. Probably my favorite vegan breakfast in Madison. A good place to get some work done, but not the best for chatting with friends as the seating is pretty uncomfortable.

Tried a few local coffee places and this one took the cake in downtown Madison. Bagel with bacon, egg, cheese and aoli- phenomenal. Turkey/brie sandwich was a nice rainy day filling sandwich. Coffee was well made and tasted great both times. Staff were busy but friendly/helpful.

Coconut cream houjicha latte is truly unique and after ingeniously adding espresso shots is now my favorite coffee drink. The breakfast biscuit has a unique mustard sauce and is incredibly savory. I substituted another egg for the bougie bologna. The croissant is the only item I ordered that wasn’t spectacular…but croissant are very difficult to get perfect.

Excellent coffee, great location, great vibe. It was my first time visiting Madison and this was recommended to me. The interior is a great place to hang out and the view of the capitol is amazing. My cortado was excellent, really fruity, complex espresso. The croissant was pretty good, not super fresh but still good. Awesome Merch too!
