This place was amazing. I honestly wish I would have gone more while living in Madison… pretty decent coffee too

They have so many fun specialty coffee drinks! Tried the coconut vanilla cold brew, kinda sweet but very tasty as an afternoon treat.

Michaelangelo's has been my favorite coffee shop / cafe in Madison for 10+ years, even though I live in a different state now. Whenever I visit Madison, or take friends to town, I always take them here as part of our little State St. tour. It's a perfect place to stop by and fuel up before going to see a show at the Overture Center, touring the Capitol, visiting any of the museums around the square or just because you happen to have business in town.
The coffee is delicious, and they have incredible food - with lots of vegan options. I just had some curried chickpea soup that was just delightful. The spinach feta croissants are so moist and flavorful.
Even a simple Italian soda is special there. A real gem and probably my favorite café, period.

Coffee of course, but a wide delicious selection of sweet and savory goodies. Super friendly staff is a bonus

This place has good vibes and fun art! I love the sleeves they put on the cups. The employees have always been nice. I love the jasmine tea and paninis! But the chai lattes are incredibly inconsistent and often taste flavorless :(
(previously left a 3 star review but changing it)

The baked goods are always DELICIOUS, but for me the coffee is hit-and-miss. Prices are also a little crazy. A breakfast bagel and latte for $17!

Amazing atmosphere for a cup of coffee.

This place has mice in the espresso bar. I know because I trapped one under the case with sandwiches and desserts on 11/16/22. It's pretty indicative of the hygiene and food safety practices here. You can see the people making sandwiches never wear gloves or wash their hands. And the "cold brew" is 3 day old stale coffee poured over ice

The staff are always super friendly. The best place to stop in for coffee and dessert before seeing a show downtown.

Great atmosphere, lots of space. Employees were polite. Great choices and variety. Food and drink choices. Good prices. Free WiFi here as well.
