I really love Barriques and try to support them but they are perpetually understaffed. They have been since before the pandemic. Prepare for extra long wait times for counter service and drinks. On average I wait about 15 minutes for an espresso drink. Highly recommend planning ahead and ordering through their website or mobile app.

My only issue with Barriques is that they overcook some of their bakery items. Cookies are almost always burnt/overcooked. Scones are great but cookies, not so much

What a great coffee shop to meet up and chat some personal or business subject. The medium roast is what I had, and it was good. The service folks were very friendly and helpful. The location is great too for me to visit my business friends for a good chat. I liked the place a lot.

Great location, good pastries, helpful staff, but the coffee is a little "winier" than I prefer. The space is great, though--high ceilings and several levels in a large open space. Might be a little acoustically lively for getting work done, but maybe it's a little quieter during the work week?

The light and dark roast coffee here is very good! I love their atmosphere: a two-story seating area with a double-tall ceiling above the bar and first-floor ceiling. There are a good number of outlets to power your machines, and it's not the best place for group conversations or hangouts. I'd recommend more for a solo visit.

Pretty solid place, came by after some recommendations from former locals. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they had oat milk and was pleased at their ability to make a cortado correctly because apparently some places can't. Good food choices as well and it's a pretty spacious and chill location.

I’d like to make it a higher rate review. However, we had ordered avocado wrap in past it was so delicious. Recently we had ordered at least 4 times and avocado was so green and hard that it spoiled the entire experience. The wrap was cold and almost tasteless. We appreciated a little destines though. That is 8 wraps total! The coffee latte was a disappointment as well. I’m afraid we won’t be coming back with our team any time soon. I’d rather pick Michelangelo in statecstreet for their tasty food and coffee.

Barriques is one of the few coffee shops that I go out of the way to spend a morning, afternoon or evening connecting with friends, getting a quick bite, or spending hours working. It has been one of my top hangouts for nearly 8 years.
The atmosphere is Barriques best asset. The two-story open loft concept allows for easy people-watching, see and be seen, but not too loud or exposed that you cannot enjoy a meeting or getting work done. The iron work decor, by a local artist, combined with the cafe and wine bar trappings complete the scene.
You get a lot of in-and-out traffic, but due to proximity to State office facilities and other employers, and on the edge of the University student influence, there is a healthy and fun mix of workers enjoying an out-of-office meeting, lunch, or quick coffee, along with students and other professionals hanging out or working. In the evening, it is pretty popular again with students and young professionals both getting work done and enjoying the wine.
The coffee is pretty good, specialty drinks are alright and the food is great but not spectacular. The menu includes a few salads and sandwiches, to go along with the assortment of coffee shop bakery selection.
The wine is a pretty decent price for a wine cafe, including some chilled and many local selections.
Barriques is everything you'd want and expect from a classy cafe.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere with a nice variety of sitting options - bar near the front window facing Washington Ave, upstairs has a few nooks to relax in, outdoor seating. Patio tables are crammed a little tight. Drinks come up quickly. Nice selection of some gift items to purchase.

Barriques is a perfect coffee shop to get a delicious drink with a good atmosphere. I've spent countless hours working here and have always enjoyed it. With a nice outdoor seating area for the warmer months, and a more private upstairs when you want a quieter place, you can't go wrong.
