My family and I went to West Dairy for some ice cream on a nice summer day. It was a wonderful treat. I'd highly recommend the waddle cone!

Amazing. Love West's ice cream. A fantastic traditional ice cream. A solid variety of flavors. Great waffle cone. Has a very nastalogic look and feel. A true gem of Hayward's downtown and mainstreet experience. Worth the trip every time.

This place is awesome! Homemade ice cream with tons of flavor options and giant scoops. This is the type of old fashioned ice cream shop that you want all ice cream places to be.

The ice cream was delicious but the service was terrible. There were 5 people that were working but 4 of them were standing around while one lady was trying to serve everyone.

The lady that served us just stopped in the middle of our order to help other customers. So we then had to wait for these other people to order to get the rest of our ice cream and pay.

We also asked which fruit flavored ice cream was most popular and the lady just dodged the question and said 'I don't know." The lady works there, even make something up if you aren't sure.

Great ice cream, but the service was so bad I would have rather went to Dairy Queen.

Tons of unique and familiar flavors! I tried "church basement lemon bars". If you love ice cream it is a must; I plan on visiting many more times.
