Owner was extremely rude to my wife due to the fact that we've never been here before and didnt know that we are supposed to come and get our own drinks and food when they are done. Even tho i decided to come back the next day to speak politely with the owner(with no customers present) about it she was just as rude with me and immediately after saying she was "sorry" flipped it around excusing her behaviour by telling me she was in a rush. Last i checked 12 customers in a restaurant doesn't constitute a rush but i may be wrong. On top of that the 8 dollar breakfast sandwhich was a pathetic out of the box frozen egg with a minuscule pancake for a bun.

Didn't have enough time to enjoy all they had to offer as we were passing through on the way to a meeting, but super friendly service, yummy breakfast, awesome drinks and great atmosphere. I'd recommend you check it out.

Loved the retro ambience and local vibe (furnishings are yard- sale finds). Menu options are limited but tasty. The breakfast burrito was particularly good. Returned two mornings in a row, in part to browse the gift shop.

My wife and I ate here today and enjoyed both of our meals as well as the atmosphere and the hospitality; the conversation we had with the management was very enjoyable and it was a pleasure to stop here for a bite to eat after visiting the Farmer's Market this morning. We've been here a time or two before and we'll most certainly be back again !
Do not worry. I am an expert
When I heard that Fountain City Cafe had received a $10K award in a statewide contest, I thought it to be more than a reason to give it a try. My partner and I stopped in and were impressed by the decor, however our reasons for going to any cafe are what eventually concerned me. I was presented with a coffee-stained menu on a sheet which is apparently printed every day as needed. My greater surprise was that on a day on which the thermometer was trying hard to move past zero, there was no hot soup. Throwing some cans of Campbell's in a hurry would have sufficed for the day if one was unable to do a scratch batch. While the interior looks of a restaurant are helpful, careful management would serve itself well by offering a better menu (if it's to be a printed page-of-the-day, invest the pennies to offer fresh ones each morning, laminated for a few pennies more....) and, by all means, serve fare that coincides with the season. Am certain one will find icy lemonade here in the summer. A lot of potential.

Got a pie two years in a row pretty much from this place. I always forget it is there! There is so many yummy baked goods everyday!

Great coffee, it's my preferred stop when traveling through Fond du Lac. It's also a pretty good stop for those with children.
Very friendly staff, nice central location, only downside is parking is sometimes hard to come by.

My favorite cafe to visit in fdl! I love how all the food is made to order and they stay local for buying pastries and crafts!. The coffee specials are delicious and ready to drink (no scalding coffee to wait for to cool down).
