Absolutely fantastic food. Blackened tuna on risotto rice could not have been better if served at a five star restaurant in a big city. This place can not be missed.

Stopped for breakfast, it was Ok. We were the only ones in there at 830 on a Saturday morning. Nothing too special. Music was a little loud, could hear either the cook or waitress coughing while our food was being prepared. That doesn't make for the most comfortable meal. At least we didn't get sick. Had an Egg scramble, it was a little greasy from the cheeses and meat. Best things were the fried potatoes, the bacon and the scones. Smoothie machine doesn't work, apparently been broke since summer.

Even though they were swamped with customers and short staffed, the folks at Chefs Hat Cafe were friendly and helpful.
We ordered two Denver Breakfast wraps. They were sooo good!
The potatoes were just right spicy and the scones were, Oh My Delicious!

Went for breakfast. A bit of a wait but totally worth it. It's a small restaurant with fresh and very delicious food. We enjoyed french toast with poached eggs and a meat omelet with toast and potatoes. Everything was amazingly good. I didn't finish my mocha so the waiter kindly warmed it up and put it in a to go cup for me. They also have delicious pies!

It was just OK. Nothing really special, other than location.
We walked in at 11 and found out that the kitchen switches from breakfast to lunch at 11:15. We felt super rushed by our server to put the order in. I understand the kitchen's protocol. I guess it was the display of anxiety and pressure that was a bit of a turn off. We would have ultimately been fine ordering off the lunch menu.
I had the breakfast bowl, which was tasty. My boyfriend ordered the southwest scramble, which wasn't that good. The salsa tasted like Tostitos from the grocery store.
We decided to order a scone, instead of a toast (both were an option with breakfast). HUGE mistake! The scone-looking thing not only did not taste like one, but tasted pretty awful. I ended up asking for a small piece of toast so I could wipe the last few bites of runny egg in my breakfast bowl.
I was brought a platter with 4 slices, butter and strawberry jam, which ended up costing $4 more, which I could have avoided in the first place instead of ordering a scone that I did not finish.
Use this as your warning!

Fantastic staff and food! Portions are large, justifying the higher cost. I made two meals out of the pasta dish I ordered. Courteous staff, even the owner was out bussing tables and talking about the economics of doing business in seasonal Door County.
Will be back for sure!

We stopped here for lunch on a recent anniversary trip to Door County. I ordered a half wrap with soup. The portion size was very generous and the meal also came with these delicious potato chips (we actually bought a bag to take with us) and homemade pie. Everything was delicious. The service was also very good. At one point, a man I assume was the owner came around to ask how our meal was and even offered to refill my husband's drink for him. Later, he also took our check for us when our waitress was busy with another table. I always appreciate when management/owners get out there and help staff out. It shows that they care about their employees and their customers. We hope to visit again on our next trip!

Food was delicious albeit portions were small with a somewhat above average price tag. With so many unique options in door county this is not a place I would frequent.
