Just leaving a review cause I’m surprised at all of the 1 stars. This place is great. Yeah your order won’t be done in 2 minutes like Starbucks but the sandwiches are MUCH better than anything you’ll ever get from Starbucks. The quality food and drinks are worth the wait in my opinion.

My friend and I make a monthly trip to Almost Heaven! We started out wanting to try local restaurants but each month we keep coming back! Their food and desserts are delicious. We love the atmosphere and service too!

At first I was patient with the long wait times because they had just opened. It seems that wait times aren’t due to growing pains. Simple drinks or smoothies take 20-30 minutes. Often times you have to remind them to make your drink/food. I have waited close to an hour for an açaí bowl. Food is inconsistent. Staff is rude and acts like you are an inconvenience to them at the register. Staff has argued with me twice over milk substitutions due to allergies. Cute shop and nice concept. On the rare occasion they get it right it’s great. Lots of room for improvement. Hope they figure it out .

Update on 1/21/22: My wife and I decided to come back to this location... Against our better judgement. Hindsight is 20/20. This place is still struggling. We steered clear of specialty coffees due to our experience last time. My food was good and came out on time. My wife's, however, wasn't as timely or correct. She then waited over 15 minutes for them to correct it. Staff complained about order tickets not printing but didn't do anything to fix it or even write down orders. Everyone around us was getting the wrong food or drink. They were out of basic ingredients for food but didn't advise people when they ordered. Only after waiting some time did they inform the customers of the lack of ingredients and then made them wait some more. Overall, it took at least 35-40 minutes to get our two coffees and the correct food. At least the shop was cleaner than last time, I guess...

Original: This location is quite disappointing. Staff is rude and more occupied with their phones than actual work. I needed a splash of milk for my coffee, and if I wouldn't have spoken up at the register where 3 of the girls were standing, they would have never noticed me or my wife. Speciality coffees are over saturated with syrup and borderline unpalatable. The location is covered with gnats and flies around the cash register area. The bottle of half and half was warm and sat next the the sugars and trash can, for God knows how long. Staff is unfriendly and unaware of customers when they are in the shop. I love the original location but this locations brings down the great name AHD has made for themselves in Bridgeport.

Rating updated to 2 stars. We were double charged when using the outside ordering system and the charges were never corrected. We called 3 times and never received a return call or a credit. Shame, we loved their cheesecakes and salads.

Update: We have not received a refund, nor been contacted about the overcharge. If management would post an email, I would be happy to reach out directly.

Update #2: We did get a refund but it came from the bank finding the double charge. My advice is to pay at the window if you go.

Yummy acai bowls!! Sandwiches were good also. Smoothies aren't very flavored, but are good! I believe they were only 3 ingredients which is super nice for allergies. I'd rather taste fruit than sweetener anyways. Staff was friendly.

My husband and I came here for the first time. We ordered 2 hot caramel macchiatos, a bagel, and a panini. We waited for half an hour after paying. When they gave us our coffees they were iced and I told them we ordered hot coffees, she said we are out of hot cups. So they just made us something we didn’t order because they didn’t have the correct cups, instead of telling us when we ordered, and then did not offer to remake. As our food was being made we could see the staff making the food the back, not wearing any gloves and not washing their hands.

We had such high hopes for this place and were disappointed with the experience.

I truly do love this place. It has a great atmosphere and the workers are very respectful. What I don’t like is that every time I come here, they are out of numerous items. They can at least update or make a sign for a notification that they are out of items. This has been going on for months and has made me wonder about their management. Overall- delicious when they actually have what’s on their menu.

Just visited and ordered a frozen Carmel macchiato. It was so loaded with Carmel and sugar I had to ask for a new one. The girl was not happy and in response made it with 10x the amount of cream so it now taste like I'm drinking straight cream! I go here at least 3 times a week and the attitudes here are always snarky and not at all about customer satisfaction. This place either needs new management or new employees 🤔
