One of my favorite coffee shops in the area. They are currently out of chai tea concentrate as there is a shortages. They are all super friendly and have wonderful drinks and food.

Favorite coffee shop in Tacoma. The cutest interior and friendly, warm staff. I love that their interior door is open to Lapis next door, among all the other walkable goodness in Proctor! Pro tip: lemon iced cookie

The staff is so friendly and genial that it's a joy to come to this Olympia Coffee location. Rotating seasonal specials are always a treat and the current special, the Calabria (a hot or iced latte with homemade bergamot infused vanilla syrup and rose petals) is my favorite. A wide array of milk options including alternative milks like oat and almond are available.

Mask mandate is currently in affect in Pierce county and I am a STAUNCH supporter of this. I will not stand to be verbally accosted by a barista for taking my mask down for literally three seconds to take a bite of something that I just purchased, especially when there are two children in the same environment with NO masks and you say nothing to their parent. I will no longer be patronizing this establishment, as it’s clear that it’s a priority for your baristas to accost paying adults than to call out hypocrisy of people with kids that are allowed to just run amuck with no regards to public health and safety.

What does one go into a coffee shop for? Well, it was really very exceptional. I read some less than stellar reviews here but none could fault the paramount purpose of this establishment. With that national chain right across the street, Olympia will have plenty of business from converts. I am telling you, this place is LEGIT.

Interior is overly sterile with white on white and hard surfaces. The exterior is simple and unassuming but extremely bland like the coffee
I'd thought a third try was in order since I buy coffee daily on the way to work and on the weekend at Starbucks directly across the street.
I should make an observation about business at Olympia Coffee now when they open in the morning they have an absence of customers for the first hour or so. I sit reading the paper at Starbucks every morning every day of the week and clearly see no one in the place. My question is why open up if you have no business.Top Pot Donuts have nearly learned their lesson as to when to open. (Could I suggest 10:00 till 4:00 for TP)
As for OCR maybe 7-4 for them as well.
Coffee in both of Starbucks competitors is not as good as what the mermaid offers.
The service is straight forward and like the interior bland and sterile simply not a lot of personality bit they are nice.
I'll be so very surprised if either of these places are open in the Proctor area in 5 years. Unless the landlord is giving them the space.
Like the Walla Walla must be an online company because no one is ever in the place
Some of these places ....what are they even doing open...

This is my favorite neighborhood cafe! The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, but the best part is the coffee. They roast their espresso beans there and the coffee is so good. I get the oatmilk latte (they use Oatly) and it is delicious. They also have yummy sweet treats and and a few warm savory breakfast items (breakfast burrito, sandwiches).

I have to say this was the most UNCOMFORTABLE... coffee house I have ever, ever visited. The seating is ridiculously sterile and minimal. Perfect, I suppose if you want to sit by yourself and plug away at your computer or phone. Tiny tables and even tinier seats all in hard plastic. NO place to meet with friends and share a relaxing few minutes. The wait staff were pleasant but if this is a coffee shop of the future, I would much rather stay home. What marketing genius thought this one up?

I love that you can charge your phone while you have their delicious coffee. Noteworthy is the hot chocolate--made with Seattle's Theo's chocolate. Just delicious. (Make sure you get their thick whipped cream and some sprinkles on it.)

I enjoy the coffee quite a bit and the service has been ok. Today however they spaced out and forgot I had ordered while they served 6 more people after me. It was frustrating. I stood there for 10 minutes tying to catch their attention after the coffee finished brewing. They just kept serving more people who ordered after me. They offered a refund but it was not a fun experience to be forgotten for so long.
