Proper Joe Coffeehouse

A nice small but cozy Coffee house right in the heart of downtown Historic Snohomish. Outdoor seating and indoor as well. A great view of the street to people watch and a stone's throw from the Snohomish River walking path.

My husband and I purchased a cafe au lait and cappuccino and were really disappointed. (Coffee was weak, espresso was burned, and baked goods are from Costco.)

The other reviews say this Proper Joe’s is awesome, but that wasn’t our experience. We really wanted to like this place! Decor is cute but coffee was bad.

Great coffee, quick barista today - annoyed that the owners understaff - but the barista rocked it.

Attention given to quality of espresso shots. Good variety of milk alternatives (only complaint is the alternatives are the sweetened kind. Would be nice to have unsweetened hemp or almond in order to avoid the sugars) This is a proper cup of coffee for sure. Great place to stop in when in Snohomish for a pick me up or get your fresh coffee beans.

I'm fussy about coffee. Had truly the MOST delicious cup of coffee in my life here. Enjoyed it sitting on a couch visiting with a friend but was entranced by the deliciousness of my flat white made with a combo of almond & coconut milk with 1/2 decaf 1/2 regular and a splash of flavoring. So good!! This is my go to coffee spot on Snohomish.

I'm giving a rating of 1 due to the owner not being the friendliest of people. He wasn't thrilled about my questions, when most owners are excited to talk about their business. I heard positive things about Proper Joe's and was excited to have moved down the street hoping to make it my new go to spot and possibly a new job opportunity, I have been a barista for five years and this will not be a spot I come to again. I still tipped and said thank you even though because it is the right thing to do when someone handcrafts a drink, rude or not in my opinion. This was an unfortunate experience.

Visit was a couple of hours before the parade through town. Ka La La days. It was busy, nice atmosphere, there are some comfortable chairs to rest and eat/drink. Nice variety of coffee beans and teas. Nice view of the river as you leave to wonder the antique stores.

Its difficult to get that elusive 5 star rating from me but Proper Joe Coffeehouse is close! Its very warm and friendly and everyone treats you as if you're a long lost friend. And, how great is it that everyone wants to play with your four legged "best friend" that is more than welcome here!!!

The only down side I can think of and the reason why no 5 stars is, their coffee. Some days its awesome and other days its just so so. Consistency is the problem here which i believe is based on who's making your coffee.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, great service. Perfect place to have a cup of coffee.

Small, average, quiet.
Okay but not a place to bring a group or plan to have a meeting. Too small to really have a conversation with anyone without everyone hearing your conversation. Looking for a quiet small coffee shop - this would be it
