Best stop in mount Vernon. Period.

Ristretto is my 3rd place. If I'm not at home or at work, this is where I want to be. Fantastic espresso and drip coffee, local pastries, quality breakfast and lunch menus, and always a vibrant variety of wine and craft beer. You can sit in a window nook, host a meeting for 6 at the big table, grab a book or a game from the shelves and relax on the couch in front of a large coffee table, grab a table for two for conversation or a joint wifi session, or just sit alone while you work and admire the local art on the walls. No TVs. No deep fryers. Lots of charm. Great owners and staff.

I used to come here all the time and love this place .. Sad to day its gone down hill.
I came in today and ordered an American and a sandwich ($13+).. It wasn't busy. The gal made my drink and just left it sitting until I wandered back and picked it up. Then she did the same with my burnt pesto sandwich. She just left it sitting on the counter and let it get cold... She didnt bother to let me know it was done.. I did tip here pretty well. (She was too busy cleaning and shutting the place down 3hr b4, they close)
Also the lighting is terrible.. The lights flicker so reading is very tough and distracting.
Over all bad lighting and bad customer service :( so sad to see one of my favorite spots go down like this.

One of my go to's for Mocha during my work week. Staff is polite and engaging.

The atmosphere is great and the coffee is great. However, the past TWO times I have stopped in for a breakfast sandwich, which is NOT cheap, they have used a MOLDLY BAGEL. For $7 I expect a place to be more careful. I am always on I-5 headed north or south before I experience, a couple of bites into the sandwich, the gagging taste of MOLD. This has happened twice..that's $14 worth of food I can't eat, AND didn't have the time to replace this inedible, expensive sandwich. I won't eat here again, and it's not worth the trip off the freeway just for the coffee. You have lost a semi-regular customer.

The focaccia based sandwiches are really good! They have a very italian vibe to them. Coffe was pretty good too.

Delightful cozy cafe filled with friendly staff, local art, and thoughtful touches like cappuccino hearts and a variety of dairy alternatives. Clean bathrooms, abundance parallel parking in front of the store. Well worth the visit!

This place would be better if they asked the staff member with the high ponytail and face piercing to be ... nice to customers?
Can't imagine we would ever come back.

A gem of a coffee shop in down town Mt Vernon. Good pastries too. Not far off the freeway. our usual stop heading north from Seattle

Tried the PNW Mocha and the Caramel Macchiato and both were excellent! Looking forward to stopping back in next time I'm in the area.
