Not a typical cafe. Staff was very friendly and you can tell the food is made with quality ingredients. It’s a very laid back cafe where you’ll find people working on computers or reading.
I got the breakfast burrito with potatoes and verde salsa. It was alright and very filling. Unfortunately it was mainly unseasoned potatoes which overpowered everything so nothing else in the burrito really stood out to me. I enjoyed it still since it’s not a typical breakfast burrito that you’d find at any regular cafe. Grabbed a cinnamon roll before I left and it was incredibly disappointing; very dry and hard with chalky icing.
Biggest downside however was the incredibly small breakfast menu they had when I visited early in the summer. There was hardly anything to chose from. Otherwise this is a nice little alternative to a standard cafe you’d find on the road, and a quiet place to work or read with some food.

Overall the place needs Improvement. Pros: Employees were friendly, atmosphere was invited, prices were good. Cons: Breakfast plates portions were much too small. The cooking of the potatoes and sausage was incomplete. Plates, glasses, and utensils were dirty and worn. The men's bathroom was not in great physical appearance, no hot water, and dirty. Finally, I suggest they do away with asking for a tip when they ring a customer's order. The request is made before they even doing anything. Plus, it's all self service anyways! There's no shame!

I love how fresh everything is here. I’ve been many times, it never disappoints. Excellent pastry selection, quiche always good. Great sandwiches!

Disappointing to say the least. I called to make reservations for Easter brunch and was told that they only had one spot left for that time. When arriving the place was nearly empty. The host was extremely snide when we asked why we were told there was only one reservation available. Being that it was Easter we were expecting a much more inviting atmosphere. I can not review the food because due to the way she treated my family we decided to leave and go to a much more friendly cafè in the next town over. Truly wish our experience was different because we love supporting local businesses.

Coffee was really great. I had a Reuben that I didn't care for due to how meat was cut and would have liked more sauce and sourkraut.

They were out of my first two options when I visited the first time, but one of them was a special and they were super cool about it and very apologetic. Quick and friendly service and I think they gave my gf an extra free side of chips she had mentioned, but didn't order. Very sweet of them! Amazing aesthetic over all chill and welcoming place. Will come back!

The wait in the drive up line was very long. I ordered the salad with apple and chicken. It was very good. I will order it again but not if I am under any time constraints. EDIT. This post does not relate to Dakota Cafe. DC does not do drive up but it is a great place to gather for coffee or lunch.

Cute diner, went for breakfast and lunch. Good sized portions for the price. Nice stopping in Ellensburg from The Gorge.

One of the best Rueben sandwiches I've had in a long time. Loved the open space cafe and friendly Staff. Will stop by again when we're in the area.
