The food here was delicious and the service was top notch. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was good. The place is small, so if it's busy there might be a bit of a wait, but in my opinion it was worth it.

185 is a great little spot to eat locally! They have a very courteous staff who are always very friendly and willing to help. The restaurant is very clean with a very comfortable atmosphere. They have put a lot of effort in and it definitely shows! We have never been disappointed by anything on the menu. My fiance ordered a brisket omelet that he was absolutely thrilled with, and everyone at the table hummed happily while they were eating! Be prepared to wait patiently on the weekend. In the aspect of being seated and getting our order taken/brought to our table the wait was fairly long. However, they are limited to a small number of tables because they have a very small building. They have very cleverly made the most of thier limited space with a nice little outdoor seating area, and the staff and kitchen are doing the best they can to manage their busy weekends. Just don't go if you are in a time crunch and you will be a happy camper!

Fantastic food and service! Owner and staff are on top of it! Waited a short time outside in the cute courtyard and our granddaughter had a great time. French toast and scramble was superb and the coffee was one of the best I’ve had … try it black first before adding anything.
And the grits were just right.
Hostess/waitress was truly on top of things and super nice. In todays era of restaurant management and employees just mailing it in, this was a breath of fresh air!
We will be back weekly when we visit the area!

Best little secret of Hampton and Newport News. I've eaten here once a month for the last year or so, and I absolutely love it. Great prices, amazing staff. It's a little small inside, so if there's a breakfast rush you might wait for seating.

To counteract this, they allow people of different parties to sit together, some might not like this, but I think it's a nice option. It feels more communal.

The portion sizes are amazing, and they offer discounts for military. Very accommodating and very friendly.

Stopped in on our way through VA and it was fabulous!!! Reminded me of a small town diner. Those smashed potatoes are worth a trip back!
