Great place to study, drink a yummy coffee, and have a yummy little munchie! I love when they have gluten and dairy free pastries ! The breakfast burrito is to die for. They have gluten free bread to substitute for their sandwiches. It is wheelchair accessible but a bit cramped inside. They sell art and pottery and other small decor made locally there. Cozy atmosphere, sweet baristas, fun place to chill. 😍

Depending on what you're coming here for, you may be a little disappointed, or very happy. This is a nice place with fantastic service, serving mostly nice, sugary coffee drinks. If you're here for a mocha, a latte or any of their speciality drinks, you'll be very happy. I was hoping for a trendy coffee place with pour overs and amazing espresso shots, which I did not get.

This is scientifically proven to be the best place on earth. Unparalleled service, welcoming atmosphere... They have the best coffee I've ever had, and I've visited local coffee shops all along the east coast. The best part is that it's perfectly comfortable to sit for a couple hours. May. cost short-term profits, but repeat business has to make up for it. Oh, and it's a Pokestop.

So far, I have gotten Christmas in a Cup, the Light Ethiopian blend coffee, a chocolate cream cheese brownie, and an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. All of it has been good each time I have gone. The service is great, last time they used the last of their Ethiopian blend on my order and couldn't fill the cup up to the very top. i wanted room for cream so this wasn't an issue. But the woman who was helping me gave me a card for a free drink even though I got a 98% full cup of coffee. They didn't have to do it but went the extra mile. It also doesn't hurt that they make a mean cup of coffee. Definitely worth a try if you are in the Wyndhurt area...or in the wider Lynchburg area.

Great for groups or by yourself. (Hint: Bottomless coffee does wonders for productivity.)
This is my favorite coffee shop in Lynchburg. I basically lived here during college. I've done more work here than just about anywhere else.

The only drawback to the Muse is what makes it so endearing - the intimate, yet limited seating. Constantly filled with students and adults alike, tables are hard to come by, and doubly so if you want to sit on the balcony.
The Muse hits the nail on the head between sweet drinks and quality coffee. A Wyndhurst staple that I hope goes nowhere soon (unless another new location is opening near Wards Road!)

Love their coffee just wish their business would be open until 9 or 10 on the weekends

Here lately I have been stopping in at The Muse since it is convenient from day to day. I love some of their coffee options, my favorite being Sumatra and my next favorite being their French roast. Some days they don't have an option like this available, which is disappointing. The reason for the 3 is partially to do with that, but especially because of my interaction with the person working the register today. I have worked in coffee shops before, and one of the worst things a barista can do is act annoyed and/or judgmental. You see, I had bought a coffee the other day that I never had before, and I ended up not liking it, therefore not drinking it. Today I asked for a sample of one of the coffees - girl is clearly annoyed with me. I even explained why I wanted to try it first. I didn't like it, so I ordered a triple small americano. She pauses, looks at me and says "So an extra shot?" Innocent enough, but she is still very annoyed with my order. When she gives the cup to the barista, I hear her say "Different" referring to my drink order. I like coffee dark and strong, and I really didn't understand what her problem was with me. Other employees have gone above and beyond to interact and be kind, but this one just was very unpleasant and did not make me feel welcome. I guess every place has one that doesn't care enough about customers to be helpful and kind in their interactions. I will likely start going out of the way to my usual coffee stop. Sorry, Muse.

After exploring all the coffee shops in Lynchburg, I found that for several reasons the Muse is my favorite. They have a wide selection of specialty drinks that are packed with flavor and all have very unique flavors. My personal favorite is "Christmas in a Cup" and like its name it has a blend of Christmas flavors such as cinnamon and hazelnut. If it is a hot day, every one of their specialty drinks can be made into frappachinos which taste like coffee milkshakes. If you dont want flavorful coffee drinks, their plain coffee roasts are also excellent. A wide selection of sugar free flavors are also available. These are less sweet yet they still have good flavor. The Muse also has a good selection of different types of teas with flavors around the world.
They don't have a very large selection of food, but the food they do have is well made and tastes amazing and decently priced. They have muffins, cookies, and other pastries that are all fresh. The Muse also has the best breakfast borritoes in town. You wouldn't normally think of getting a breakfast borritoes at a coffee shop, but I would highly recommend it.
The staff is also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the drinks. The environment is great but sometimes it can be hard to find a seat during peak hours. Overall it is just a great coffee shop.
Tldr; awesome selection of flavors of coffee and tea, great breakfast foods, friendly staff, great environment but sometimes hard to get a seat

I stopped in this morning for the first time and was amazed by both the service and coffee. Their Nutella Bella roast is some of the best drip coffee I've had in a shop.
I had to make a second stop before I left town!
