Coffee had no sugar and barely any caramel. Raspberry pastry was heated in the microwave. This place used to be really good and this makes me way more sad then frustrated. Will try again because I know they can do better. This place has been here since I was a toddler.

I think the place was quite nice and inviting. Excellent for a cup of coffee but don’t expect many variations or customizing your coffee significantly. Still, the staff was very friendly and the establishment and ambiance, very nice and cozy. Keep driving towards the river where you will find FREE PARKING.

Great coffee and pastries. Very attentive staff and I appreciated that they offered to heat up all of our baked goodies. Easy to spot right on a corner.

One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. Every weekend or day off from work I find myself there in the morning for a nice large Mocha and cinnamon bun or muffin if they have it. Its actually something I look forward to all the time. I wish I could go more often, and that is my only complaint I could ever have for the place!
They're quick, consistent and simply the best.
And their staff is always super nice.
10/10 would recommend
+ They're nice to dogs too!

I tried this place for the first time near the Christmas holiday. Someone warned me the coffee wasn't very good, but I wanted to try it for myself. The service was wonderful...the staff is VERY nice. The coffee, not so much. I ordered the gingerbread latte. 3 stars is generous. It was very nearly one of the worst tasting coffees I've had in over a decade, maybe ever. However, I will go back because I'm hoping it was a fluke (want to give it the benefit of the doubt) and because the place has a beautiful atmosphere. I'll post again for an update.

This is exactly what you expect to get from your hometown coffee shop. The staff are friendly and engaging. They know my order, half calf with oat milk, and are either making it or have it ready when I get to the register to pay. They are wonderful! I wish I could give them more stars!

I’ve been coming here 12+ years and it used to be the best place, but recently they’ve closed a lot of their seating areas and no longer offer any wifi. Drinks are great but even the smallest size gets pricey quick- any flavor is .75 and any milk substitute is another .75.
They have 8ish bar stools along one wall, 5 tables with 2-3 chairs each, basically no plugs for laptops, etc. inside. Plenty of outdoor seating
If you can find a seat it’s still a great little local spot to hangout, and it’s definitely worth at least grabbing a drink and walking around downtown

Lovely little downtown coffee shop located in historical downtown Fredericksburg.
Good selection of hot and cold coffee drinks as well as non-coffee drinks. Quick grab pastries or snacks can accompany your beverage as you enjoy sitting inside, outside, or even to go.
Staff is helpful and friendly.
Highly recommend giving this place a go.

I drove from upstate NY to Raleigh and this was the best coffee I had on the trip. The ice coffee had the rich flavor you get when the beans are roasted properly. The staff was friendly and the cookies were great too.

I've been going to Hyperion since the 90's. Not as often now as I used to. They still make the best espresso drinks I've ever had. Go with the frozen mocha, you won't regret it.
