Blue Elk has that great modern venue in a small town vibe that I just love. They had everything I could have wanted like hot cocoa and oat milk, coffee beans, and k-cups to take their coffee flavor back home with me! They also have CBD shots which helped me relax a bit. ;)

This is an enigmatic place. They roast their own coffee and it is very good. It has a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. But it isn't much of a coffee shop. There isn't any food and the drink options are limited. The espresso setup is like a high-end home right, not a professional setup. It's a nice place but keep your expectations in check or you'll be disappointed.

Great little place with wonderful coffee. The staff was very friendly and made me an iced vanilla latte which I enjoyed. Will make this go-to spot for coffee whenever I am in Elkton or the nearby area.

We have previously enjoyed the hospitality of beautiful Elkton and the cozy welcome to the Blue Elk several years ago, so we could not resist a return visit when we passed through town again, recently. We were not disappointed! The Blue Elk Coffee Shop still has that great vibe, excellent Fresh Brews, and hometown welcome. Thanks & CU again.peace n love

The Blue Elk has the BEST "small town, everyone is welcome" feel of any coffee shop ive entered...and ive been in coffee shops all over the world! The large variety of refreshments only adds to the wonderful atmosphere!

Super friendly people and great spirit to found such a unique place in this village in Virginia! We liked the simplicity, the very true approach to fair trade of coffee and the obvious joy to provide something very special. Most inspiring! Best coffee break ever - on our tour from Monticello back home to NY. Big THANK YOU!

Stopped by here while visiting the area for the weekend. Coffee was fine but staff were rude and made pointed comments about how they could not hear us because we were wearing masks (which was a stark contrast to all the staff in the shop). Had I known this in advance would have avoided this place. I hate to be political but in the midst of a global pandemic I do not want to support businesses who cannot back science.

I visited Blue Elk with a friend at around 10:30 am. Only one person was in the shop at the time. When we walked in we stood at the bar for a few minutes then went to find a seat, the barista never appeared to know we were there. We sat and decided what we wanted and after about 10 - 15 minutes I went back to the bar to place our order. I stood and waited to get the attention of the barista as she appeared to be doing something, she then walked past me and began doing another something while I continued waiting. Finally, she asked me if I was ready to order. I got 2 coffees, a cowgirl cookie, and a macaroon. The cookies were large and looked good. Unfortunately, they were stale so I asked for our money back. The barista was very nice about giving me my money back. I would have tried something else, nothing else was offered and only a total of 4 stale cookies were on display. I would love to be able to say that Elkton has a nice little coffee shop to go to but right now I can't do that. Hopefully, things will get better for them and the shop will be successful.
Oh I just read another person's review that she liked the fact that management did not require masks. Glad a saw that! If we need to wear masks again I won't go there.

I really like the Blue Elk coffee shop in Elkton, VA. It has a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for visiting with a friend over a good cup of coffee. I like that it’s locally owned and part of a small town. Jeff and Nova are friendly and create a menu with adventurous coffee combinations, as well as having “plain ole black coffee” There are musicians on Saturday mornings who add even more to the experience and now they have homemade ice cream too!

Blue Elk is one of our favorite coffee shops in the area. Everything I've had is delicious and the owner, Jeff, and staff are great. I am a big fan of their "Elkspresso" blend and have purchased a number of bags of it in whole bean for home.
