Stopped by randomly on our way home from DC. The sandwiches were AMAZING. I got the Italian grilled cheese, perfectly crafted! My boyfriend got the blackberry grilled cheese and it was a perfect balance of sweet and savory.

The iced coffee was huge and his toasted s’mores latte was delicious. All around super happy we stopped here. A must see!

Very good coffee well made, friendly people, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, and reasonably priced.

Coffee was fine, I didn’t order the food but my husband did and he said it was OK but pretty greasy. If you want something specialty I’m sure this place is fine. I had a bad experience so I don’t think I’ll be back. Decided to take a trip to downtown Culpepper for Valentine’s Day weekend and this was our first stop, I was very excited to check it out because I’m a coffee connoisseur and I love trying new coffee places. When we arrived the outdoor furniture was super flimsy and I have to small dogs that could have easily knocked it down playing if I didn’t watch them.

I was thrown off when I entered the store because I thought I went into the wrong location because of the bike gear and fell on their down drop and badly bruised my knee. The baristas didn’t bother to ask if I was ok or anything. I was in pain and trying not to cry when I ordered and my mascara was a bit smudged. Just a bit disappointed because would have checked on the person - just basic human decency in my opinion. Anyway, the drip coffee was pretty good however the fall off the drop down and how little the staff seems to care left a bad impression to me.

Even if the coffee isn’t as good, I’ll likely go elsewhere on my next trip to downtown culpepper.

Great experience! Coffee & food were GREAT! Service is not super friendly….but, if you can wrap your head around just going for the coffee, you will be thrilled.

Found this place while visiting the area, and so glad we did! Possibly the best egg sandwiches we've ever had (and we've had them all over). Great coffee + tea, and great, friendly service. Can't recommend it enough.

18 Grams Coffee in Culpeper: They have a sign that says “step down.” I did see it and read it and processed it. But the step is several paces after the door and after walking in I got distracted by all the bike stuff wondering if I was in the right place and forgot about the step. I stepped down hard. I laughed it off but the barista made a dig at me over not reading the sign. He was very clipped in his tone. I surveyed the menu. I like good, interesting coffee. I noticed they had a variety of flavors of specialty drinks but none of the specialty drinks themselves appealed to me. They seemed heavy and I was looking for something botanical. I asked if they had any syrups. He said, “Nope, you can get those at any second (rate) shop.” But rate wasn’t what he said. I can’t remember. I thought for a second and realized this was not someone I could trust to make my drink nor would I want to support the shop attitude. A simple “We don’t but we do have x. What do you like? What are you looking for?” I’d have tipped as much as the drink cost or more for thoughtful, imaginative service. You want to be a coffee expert? BE the expert and teach me.

Ugh. Writing a review on this place has been sitting on my heart for over a year.
The espresso and food are SO GOOD.
But the service is beyond frustrating.
Every few months I'll visit to see if things have changed...but mostly bc I don't have my own espresso machine and I'm a glutton for disappointment.
More often than not there is a manager type person hovering over the employee who is taking my order. I'm still in shock over some of the things that have been said in front of me. Like being upset that they didn't upsell me on their specialty roast (which I'm pretty sure they don't disclose the $1 upcharge when making the offer... all the prices show up on the square machine, but I think not being completely transparent is garbage).
Save those comments for an employee meeting, not in front of a costumer.
Also, it is possible to be critical and kind at the same time...

We went to this place twice, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. Very rarely do I find people so dedicated to excellence. Your beverage and food are produced with a high level of precision in an immaculate space. This is not like other coffee shops that are sticky, dark, and dirty. This place is nearly perfectly clean, well lit, and not sticky at all.
The way it is set up you can watch the entire process and in watching it I have found that they use very high quality ingredients.
It is in the same space as a bike shop wich doesn't detract from the experience at all, you will see beautiful bicycles displayed like the art they are, not just piled in like other bike shops.
The bathrooms are updated and clean. Conveniently located not far from the main area of downtown, but tucked away and not too busy to serve you well.

I was warned about the barista here, but I chose to try it anyways. BIG MISTAKE! Very rude barista. He insulted me because I didn't know what "flat white" meant , "He figured I didn't know what it meant". Then I was told 18 grams "doesnt serve anything sweet " He followed that rude condensing comment with "If you want to indulge in that kind of coffee I'm sure somewhere else will cater to you." REALLY! NEVER COMING BACK! learn some professionalism and flat out RESPECT! I've worked as nurse for 14 years, married to the military for 12 years, traveled around the world and have 6 children. I've earned any amount of sweetener I'd like thank you. Spent my money elsewhere.

Great coffee, skip the food.
Stopped by on our way through VA. My husband ordered a flat white and said it was delicious. I'm a tea drinker, and was a little disappointed they didn't have any tea latte offerings--( no chai, matcha or London fog for instance) though the traditional tea was good. My husband ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant, and said it was not good. Very greasy, the bacon was chewy the sandwich included onions?? I got a blueberry muffin, but unfortunately they had burned the bottom of the muffin and the wrapping in the process of heating it, and the this also changed the consistency of the sugar on top,so it was just OK. Probably would have been better just not heated.
