Blackbird on the Fly

I have lived in Bristol for well over a decade. I will admit to not being the most enthusiastic about blackbird when I've had their baked goods in the past. They were passable did not find them jaw dropping or that discernible from anything I was capable of doing in my own kitchen. However, since I didn't feel like putting in the work to make homemade yeast donuts because I didn't have 2 days to make them, I decided to go through the drive-thru at this location this morning. I asked the man in the drive-thru to give me a moment while I read over the menu because I had not been in a couple years. Again, I don't dislike their food, but I never find myself craving blackbird bakery. The man was annoyed that I had the audacity as the only person in line in the drive-thru to ask for a moment. And then when I ,2 minutes, later was ready to give him my order. He was rude, disrespectful and I heard him huff and puff and mutter under his breath when I ordered a coffee, a fountain drink and two donuts. Given that I was the only person in the drive-thru and there were two people inside, I figured it was a little much for him and left. I never went to Blackbird bakery very often before. I now see no reason to return if this is the way that employees treat people who are trying to be courteous and just ask for a little time.

Came here to grab some coffee while driving through Virginia and had a terrible experience. Employees are very rude. They don’t allow you to come in, I tried to ask the guy working there something and he said he couldn’t hear me so I asked if maybe he could open the door so he could hear me clearly, he rudely refused and told me if I wanted to ask him something it would have to be through the drive through window. Do yourself a favor and skip the bad experience and bad vibes no need to waste your time here.

My wife and I have been going to Blackbird, the drive through and the main shop for over 8 years. We have never been disappointed. If you love pastries, this is the place to go.

Creme Brulé so good! Many things are but those are a great place to start. I love that you can zoom in and out without waiting in a lengthy line!

We saw the signs for this place while traveling on the interstate. We stopped for breakfast and, although it was drive-thru only, we enjoyed our food. Prices were extremely reasonable. My son said "these donuts are better than Krispy Kreme and "Dunkin' Donuts!" So, I'm not sure I have anything else to add. We'd highly recommend!

Woah, all the donuts we ordered were so sweet we couldn’t eat them. Tried several flavors and decided that if they hadn’t been out of the sour cream cake donuts, that would have likely been our fav. The ones with icing were too sweet, coffee was not hot, so we really wanted to love this place but it sent us back on our road trip feeling queasy from the sugar and lukewarm coffee to sip on :(

Only drive through at this location. They closed the entrance. Most things are good. Some items get old later in the day.

Just stopped by here. Saw some people standing inside so I walked up. Some bald employee opened the door and said drive thru only. I asked if he could step aside so I could see what’s in the bakery case and he said they have a menu posted and closed the door In my face, Wth? Lol. We ended up just leaving and going elsewhere.

Amazing desserts and friendly staff. If you want a treat that will stimulate your tastebuds Black Bird Bakery is the place to go. Highly recommend.
