Main Street Cafe & Coffee

Walking in I felt like I was home. If I lived in Altavista this would be my coffee house. After watching my wife talk with Jessica (the owner), it was like watching old friends "catch up" even though they had never met.

The mocha frappe was awesome and the chicken quesadilla was great as well. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area.

Good sandwiches at a charming location. The old bank vault door was an interesting sight to see. Staff were kind, polite, and fast. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger: I'll be eating here again.

This is tough because I believe they could be 5 stars! The windows are great except when the sun is in your eyes all morning long. If there are 3 or more of you someone is going to be stuck blinded by the light. The food was good, but not outstanding.

Love this place! Friendly and welcoming staff; great food; pour over coffee; excellent pastries; bar tops and regular height tables; iPad stations; you can even eat in a giant bank vault!; AND an adjoining eclectic gift shop.

Altavista, VA, is a sweet town with a great hometown feel. And we are blessed to have a cafe/gift shop like The Main Street Cafe. The food and coffee are great and the gift shop has a great selection of well-priced, quality items.
