Really looked forward to breakfast here. Drive up from Chatham on the way to Lynchburg. Sat out front. 9am came and went. Finally decided to go north and stopped at the Colonial in Rustburg and had great breakfast. Thanks for that. Sorry you're not open during played hours

Visited today to grab a salad for lunch, asked for no tomatoes and when salad came they had been picked off and seeds and little pieces of tomato left on my salad. I normally love to eat here due to the quality of food and the customer service. Today the customer service was not good, the one taking orders thought it was more important to discuss trucks with the man in front of me versus taking care of other customer orders, and then when getting serviced she wasn’t paying attention at all to what I wanted and I had to repeat myself to get my order correct. Then when my salad was brought to my table, I wasn’t even given a napkin. When I was leaving, I walked up to ask for a refill but because it was 2pm at closing time, another girl said we don’t have anymore but a customer went up a minute or 2 before me and was able to get a refill of tea. I can honestly say I felt they were more focused on leaving versus taking care of their customers. If you are closing at 2pm, things should be accessible to your customers until that time versus tea being removed or thrown out especially knowing you have 2 customers eating in your dining area drinking tea.

My wife and I drove to Altavista on a whim just to get out and drive and maybe see if there were some interesting shops. At lunchtime we noticed Main Street Cafe and decided to eat there. I had the Cordon Bleu sandwich and my wife got a chicken wrap. Both sandwiches were excellent and plenty to eat. Something that was new to me was that my wife's wrap was finished off on a panini press. That added extra texture and crunch to the wrap. Really a great idea. The cafe is a very good find in the town.

Main Street Cafe and Coffee has amazing food, tasty teas, and delicious coffees. The shop inside also has lovely cloths and adorable home decore.

My first ever visit to Altavista VA. I wanted something to eat and it was along my walk. My sandwich was delicious! But my chocolate chip and the everything cookies made me wish for more during my drive to Richmond! Good recipes! Great value!

Excellent friendly service. Loved the lavender Italian soda. Worth the fee extra minutes off the main highway.

Awesome fresh organic food! Best Rueben sandwich I've ever had! Real high quality not fatty pastrami. Home made soups, cookies....Excellent little sandwich/coffee shop. Takes a little while to get your food but that's because it's made fresh right there so it's worth it! Next time I'm in Altavista I will stop here again!

High quality meats and cheeses, great staff. Caramel Frappes are insanely good.

Quaint shop with high end items. Coffee is mediocre, sandwiches are good. A little pricey. This store is in an old bank building. It still has the safe in place and has tables in that area. Nice stop over if you are passing through
