Pioneer Lakeshore Café

Just stopped in by bicycle this morning with my toddler, who is a little wild man. The owners are wonderfully hospitable and set us up with a huge breakfast burrito and a waffle with blueberries and maple syrup (the real stuff, obviously), all packed up perfectly for a picnic at the playground. I love how they have brightened the space up and put together a tantilizing menu. I'm looking forward to a lunch visit for that chicken sandwich, but wait, alpaca? And lobster roll? Oh boy. 🤤

I really enjoyed the food here. I had a chicken salad sandwich with truffle fries. The chicken salad was fresh and delicious and I thought the pickled onions took the sandwich to the next level. Lindsay at the front counter was super friendly and I could tell that this food is made with love. Thank you!

They have the best Chicken Sandwich in Vermont! If your in the area make the trip it’s well worth your time.

I have loved Pioneer’s food since they started their food truck. I am very excited to have high quality and delicious food available in Mallet’s Bay. My favorites are the veggie pita, chicken sandwich, fish sandwich and of course their fries! If you are looking for breakfast or lunch in Mallet’s Bay Vermont, this is the best place to get take out or eat in!

Soooo good! This is our go-to spot every weekend. Lindsay greets us like a ray of sunshine every time we come in, and her warm, friendly nature makes us feel right at home. The food is awesome- we will gladly eat anything Jean-Luc whips up! The café has such a wonderful, small-town vibe. So happy to have this little gem in Mallets Bay!

I seriously dream of the Pioneer chicken sandwich, which is perfectly crispy and the best in all of Vermont in my humble opinion! I have never had a bad meal from Pioneer Lakeshore. As an added bonus, the owners and chefs are amazing people who delight in ensuring you have a great experience. Not to be missed!

Came here with family and our toddler for Sunday lunch and the food was quick and delicious. Staff was extremely friendly saying hi to my 1.5 year old multiple times and even playing peekaboo with her. We ordered the chicken sandwich some blts, truffle fries and the regular fries and a hotdog for the little one. The homemade lemonade was super good aswell! We stayed at the campground down the road so was a quick drive and would definitely recommend eating here to anyone. We dined in but there was a lot of people getting food to-go too.

The food was good. The staff was great. They let us get there wifi to be able to calm my son who has autism so he could watch his videos. They should consider putting in a public wifi for their customers there. Bottle juice 8s a little pricey for the size. Thanks for the wonderful service there

Everything from breakfast to lunch to homemade lemonade is fantastic. Was a huge fan of this crew while they were a food truck and it’s awesome to see them in this permanent space. 10/10 recommend!

Came for breakfast takeaway. Very elegantly prepared, repertory diner fare. One could wish for a few more modern items like, say, a smoked salmon Benedict with a side of frisée, but hey, they make their hash-browns from scratch, and the result is superb.
