The best cafe we came across in our New England trip. The food is of great quality, uncomplicated and satisfying. They have fresh ingredients from local New England vendors they proudly showcase in the cafe. Friendly staff who takes care of their customers.

Great place to plug in your laptop, sit and relax with something delicious and nutritious to eat and drink. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Fun, friendly place for fresh, wholesome food. The staff is personable and helpful. The place is clean and cool, and the vibe is warm and inviting, but still a bit hip The menu has a lot of soup, salad, and sandwich choices as well as power bowls and smoothies, suitable for both herbivores and carnivores! And best of all, they are open 7 days a week, when most other Brattleboro restaurants are closed, especially on Mondays. Definitely recommend!

I just wish the coffee could be consistently hot.
Often is luke warm..
And first thing in the morning too.
Like they have it sitting before they put it out.
I edited this review, because I wanted to give the new manager lady a chance.
The one with the mohawk afro..
Anyway...
She's a downgrade.
Hopefully she doesn't last long

Excellent BLT on sourdough bread. The tea, prices and the hospitality were frist rate. I am glad I walked in and ordered there.

I used to love this place. nearly gone here every day for the last two years. I order to go and I quickly walk through the café to pick up my to go order with my super friendly dog louie. Everyone else is very nice about it except one person who works there always accost me and tells me there’s no dogs allowed not even to pass through for 10 seconds. Today was the last straw because he was super rude when he accosted me. Every other business on main street is dog friendly. This worker went out of his way to be rude to me. You just lost your best customer.

The works is a Poppin' little eat in coffee shop, that is located in the heart of downtown Brattleboro on Main Street. I personally go there on a weekly almost daily basis, and yes the staff are great and get the job done. They certainly know my name by now. Serving great bagels and panini sandwiches, filling, yet amazing salads, shakes and smoothies... the coffee is always bold and fresh. I'd recommend the French Vanilla or Bold Roast. The counter/line is an op n kitchen, so customers can see what's going on and feel a part of the entire atmosphere. I Love The Works bakery.

Amazing place to stop by in southern Vermont. I loved their delicious smoked salmon bagel.
