Best coffee shop in town. Eclectic, true to the very spirit of Brattleboro. A great place to read, write, play chess, get work done.
Of course, most of all, it is a fabulous place to enjoy a range of hot and cold beverages. For those of us who want to freeze, they even sell iced coffee and espresso drinks in the winter.
My favorite iced drink is an iced americano. So delicious there is no need to add anything but a paper(!) straw. For hot drinks I either have a few things mixed from the tea selections (which 'loose leaf'), or a soy maple latte as a treat. They make the best in town, in my opinion.
Mocha Joe's also has fresh baked muffins, scones, and other goodies that are made locally and delivered first thing in the morning. The scones are so delicious, I have a struggle to limit myself to just one.
The baristas are some of the most fun and friendly people I've met in town. If anyone who works there reads this, I think you are fantastic!
Mocha Joe's also has a particularly nice selection of bulk coffee in whole bean form, which can be ground to one's liking. The beans are a variety of fair trade, equal exchange, and other things great for the coffee farmers and the environment. They even have a certificate from a provincial (?) government related to coffee agriculture.
Also, great music, great rotating art on the walls, free WiFi, and seems pretty much dog friendly, pet or assistance animal.
Awesome coffee, great lattes, chai, hot chocolate, whatever you want. I recommend the maple latte, or go with whatever seasonal drink they have on the menu. Baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended. We always stop here when passing through.
First time I ever been there was today, great Mocha latte, very nice employees, my friends from Boston loved the place, and really liked Vermont. They purchased a few lbs of coffee to take home with them and share with all there friends.👍👍
Poor service. Worse coffee (scorched milk cappucino in a standard coffee mug) Decent space though.
Edit: Thank you to the owner for the kind reply. You're absolutely right, people including myself have off days from time to time. Apologies for the hastey review. I'll give it another go next time I visit Brattleboro. However, I would recommend getting some more traditional cups & saucers for serving cappuccino, lattes etc for your guests who decide to enjoy their drink in the shop.
If you want a cozy place to get out from the cold, have a great cup of coffee and read a book -- this is the place. Warm, comfortable atmosphere and artisan-tier coffee. Convenient walking distance from the college and co-op.
Mocha Joe's Cafe is a very decent coffee company that carries fair trade organic coffee beans. They brew their own coffee in house by grinding down whole beans. Their staff are very friendly and welcoming and they strive to meet your needs. The cafe has free Wi-Fi. Mocha Joe's Dark Roast is my personal favorite and only one cup of it gets me going throughout the day. They do sell bags of coffee on premise as well as select stores throughout the region. Just stop in today and enjoy a cup of joe with some pastries. You cannot go wrong with organic coffee!
One of the best roasters around love their coffee however buying brewed coffee on store might not be the best idea it's made with a auto drip you're going to get better coffee buying the beens and making a pour over or something like that. Espresso is good though.
Super fun spot for people watching. Latte was excellent as was the Brazilian blend. Marshmallow mystery bar was delicious. Very crowded. Staff were very pleasant.

Mocha Joe is rude, the tables are wobbly, coffee is cold, and the scones need fixing(they're muffins). Latte Larry's is MUCH better!
