Best latte ever! The owners and staff are very kind and knowledgeable. Lots of great hiking gear/necessities (sunscreen blister tape etc.), books, clothes, hats, and beautiful jewelry/gifts available to buy - it’s definitely worth the stop! While you’re there check out the one of a kind woodwork upstairs and downstairs.

We arranged a guided hike into a slot canyon. Jim took us out for a memorable experience, something we would never have done on our own. He instructed us on the different techniques for navigating through the slot canyon. The canyon was beautiful, fun and challenging, every time we turned a corner we were amazed at its beauty. If you’re going to Escalante, we highly recommend contacting Jim and Cait to arrange a hike. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will arrange a hike to meet your needs. If you are looking for gear, clothing, hiking shoes, or a great cup of coffee visit the store!

We went for an adventure to slot canyon and Jim took us to Round Valley Draw. It was a challenging yet so beautiful. Jim is so knowledgeable of the canyon and his experiences as a rock climber gave us confident. He made sure that he was there with each of us on every obstacle and made sure we took our time and not feeling in hurry. The shop is awesome!!!! Cute and welcoming.

Stopped by for coffee. I enjoyed my americano and my wife’s mocha was a hit. The kind lady who made the coffee gave us great advice for food options in the area. Seemed to have a very good selection of outdoor supplies and gear as well. Cute place with great coffee.

WOW. So helpful, went in to get some new rugged sandals for the outdoors and they were so, so helpful. The woodwork inside the building is gorgeous and their coffee are EXCELLENT! We were there on Saturday afternoon, and for me the staff at a store really makes or breaks the experience. This place is 5 stars all around. Tons of outdoor gear and great coffee!! A must visit!!

Needed a sleeping bag last minute and happened upon this beautiful store! Their sleeping bag selection rivaled REI's and I got exactly what I needed. The owners of the store also told me about some cool drives in the area as a bonus. Definitely worth a stop!

Jim and Cait have made a small town their hometown by building an outfitting store and guiding service. The retail store is well stocked for the adventure you're headed to. From jackets and shoes to camping and hiking gear from the best brands, you can find what you need as well as some local arts and crafts. Schedule guiding tours online and enjoy the canyons of Utah!

Kinda stumbled upon this place 2 weeks ago while honeymoon road tripping in a camper van. Jim kindly pointed out the problematic logistics of taking the van down hole in the rock road and pointed us towards some more easily accessible hikes, which for our second to the last day of our trip was appreciated. Ended up hike calf creek falls which was great.
The store itself is well stocked with all sorts of adventure gear as well as some nice jewelry and beautiful flint knapped knives that made great gifts. Unfortunately I had just had a coffee elsewhere otherwise I’m sure the coffee is also excellent. Shout out to the talented Annie for the sweet drawing! And thanks Jim for the campsite…😃. Do yourself a favor a stop by!

A few weeks ago, in anticipation of our trip to Escalante, my wife and I reached out to Utah Canyon Outdoors. We wanted to organize a private slot canyon hike to familiarize ourselves with the area and the terrain and learn some of the skills needed for the rest of our trip. From the outset, UCO were exceptionally helpful and efficient; returning our calls and emails, answering questions and helping plan the experience we wanted.
We started early with our guide (and UCO co-owner), Jim. He got us set up with all the equipment we needed for the day along with water, snacks and lunch. The UCO store is well-stocked with anything you might need for your outdoor adventure plus some wonderful local artisan crafts. We are pretty hardcore hikers and scramblers so asked for a challenging day and after discussing a few options we settled on Red Breaks Canyon. Jim has extensive knowledge of the area, is a highly experienced guide and was able to suggest a fun alternative to the standard route. Throughout the hike he provided insights into the geology, history and wildlife of the area along with many interesting anecdotes. Most importantly he was able to immediately assess our skill level and adapt the trip and his approach accordingly. He was an excellent instructor, teaching us new techniques specific to slot canyon exploration that would allow us to safely and confidently explore further, on our own. Our hike was exhilarating yet we felt safe throughout thanks to Jim’s excellent guiding. We had an outstanding day and he spent extra time at the end going over maps and options for other hikes we could try during our stay.
Our whole UCO experience was excellent and we would recommend them most highly to anyone visiting the area and wanting to get out and explore.
