Whistle Hill's Downtown Cafe

Just went for breakfast/brunch. The nostalgia atmosphere is wonderful. The staff was very very attentive and friendly. However the food was subpar. My brother and I had the veggie omelet. My Mom and sister in law had The standard .It tasted like it was old. I think either the oil or butter was old. It didn't taste fresh at all in my opinion. Sorry. I was disappointed. I will go back...maybe it was just a bad day.

Delicious! I got the Old Favorites, which let's you pick 3 options from a list. I selected the quiche, soup, and banana sandwiches. I was very happy with how it tasted. The atmosphere is also very nice.

Giant portions and good food. For I mention they have chicken fried bacon? They do. Go hungry or be prepared to have leftovers.

We did not have a good exsperance here! Ashamed because we really wanted to try the food! We were the only customers at 3:45 pm. We Waited over an hour for our food. Our friendly waitress kept us informed that it would be a bit longer, just a little longer, the first time she said the cooks ran out of gravy, if Chicken fried steak is on the special, you should not be running out of gravy. And still wouldn't take another 30 min for gravy? Also the fact that we were the only customers in a slow time of the day.
I saw 3 cooks back there, laughing and goofing around! The kind waitress did try to keep us happy but after an hour 30 min.. and still no food! We left and Not happy!

Definitely a favorite of mine. Been coming here for a couple of years. The staff is very friendly and greet us like family. Food is excellent!!

Better than your Momma's cooking! Your momma didn't have a commercial deep-fryer... Their chicken fried items were cooked evenly on both sides at the same time, as well as the fries. Then add a thick slice of pie where the fruit taste isn't masked by dough. Don't sit next to the windows where you see the passing traffic. That's going to be my spot.

Okay...so once in awhile you run into that place. This is THAT place. We recently decided to drop in on Mother's Day. The line was long but the weather was nice and so we patiently waited our turn....and thank you goodness! We were there for BRUNCH/Late Bfast. I had the double eggs, hashbrowns but then found it came with ham, sausage patties and bacon! For a great price too! My daughter opted for the Chicken Fried Steak and all of us at the table found it life alteringly delicious! The meats at this place have a unbelievable freshness about them...and when you go to check out a diner...what do you check first? The coffee-duh! And Wow! Wonderful brew. We were bragging to everyone we could talk to about this place. Go! ...well not today...it's Tuesday's and they are closed Tuesday...but Go M/W/TH/F/S/SU!!!!

Absolutely love this place, the food is great and tasty, and the staff are just wonderful people. I try to come here at least once a month! I love it!
