Cute little coffee place shared with a cute craft store. I had Breve coffee. It was very good. If you like creamy with a fluff, this is it. You can taste the Little sweetness from the cream. If you want good coffee with natural non sweet coffee ,try this place. Also you can look and shop nicely done craft shop too. Very unique store.

(9/7/21 - A short disclaimer - I come here multiple times a week for a coffee-d up work experience and have been doing so for the past year.) It's a great little coffeeshop in an interesting old building. The coffeeshop has been pieced together from a front entryway, an abandoned elevator shaft, and half of a retail space shared by a crafts/art store. It sounds a bit goofy but it works really well; high ceilings, good ambiance, a ton of natural light. It's a cozy place to meet up or get some work done. And, the coffee is solid. I usually get the breve which none of the other shops offer (Correction 9/7/27: most of the other coffeeshops will make a breve for you, but few put them on their menu). And, while drink size can be a little inconsistent, it's very tasty. A reviewer or two has made mention of how loud it can get - this may be true, but it's certainly quieter than both local establishments Dichotomy--half the space is a bar--and Pinewood--a perpetual hipster vinyl block party. My only real complaint is regarding the uncomfortable chairs - they're all light, wooden, patio type folding chairs which get uncomfortable quickly. (I've fixed this by bringing my own seat pad) However, as opposed to a couple other coffee shops in Waco, I've never had a problem getting seating. A great little shop.

I love this place! For healthy freshly roasted coffee (that part is really important bc if its not freshly roasted it goes rancid and loses most antioxidants) and organic heavy cream which they are very generous with 😁😀 everyone is always super nice. Make sure you know what you're getting if you dont know traditional espressos, some of them are in teeny thumb sized cups! Its always slow and has a beautiful atmosphere and a good walk downtown.

Small space but a nice space. A good alternative to "big coffee". Bru offers several unique coffees using dark chocolate. An excellent step up from mundane mocha. The location was somewhat difficult to see, so heads up if new. Worth the effort!

I used to come here almost every day to get an iced coffee when I lived downtown. The space is small, but I always got my coffee to go. The quality of the coffee is very good and each one is made with care.
The baristas are knowledgeable and I never wait long to order or to receive my drink. Bru is a great place to stop by if you're hanging out downtown and want a great, basic coffee. They do not make fancy sparkly drinks that you post on Instagram, but you will get a good quality product that a true coffee enthusiast will enjoy.

Great coffee! Great staff! I purchased a bag of their coffee beans for my boyfriend's parents and they loved it! Nice atmosphere, not too crowded. Lovely area to do some studying!

Visited here a couple of weeks ago. I checked the requirements on Google prior to driving here. It is not listed on here that masks are required. There is a sign on the door but the door is also a part of a larger building and is not clear which business it it pertains to. There was one customer in the shop ahead of me. When it was my turn to order, no one other than the barista, myself, my daughter and sister in law were in the shop. The barista asked if I had a mask, I told her no I do not. She asked me to put one on from a box of cloth masks that they have there. First off, the mandate was lifted. Secondly they should really have this information listed so that a customer can know ahead of time. Third, if they're so concerned for their workers or customers safety they should offer medical masks from a concealed box, not cloth masks from open box that have possibly been used and not washed or have dust on them from sitting there exposed. They can claim all they want that they're washed but how can a customer trust that they are and people have allergies to certain detergents as well. When I expressed that I wouldn't use their cloth mask the barista just stared at me blankly. I said, " okay, I guess we are leaving then?" The barista then said, "yeah". So I left there and took my business to the Magnolia Press Coffee Company which by the way didn't force masks on anyone, people gave their 6 feet of space and the coffee was great! I highly recommend going there instead.

With a timeless ambiance and friendly service, Bru is the perfect place to settle in and just hash out whatever work you need done.
This is a unique little shop as the entirety of the coffee shop is located in the elevator shaft of the Pretorian lofts in down town. But the lobby and the interior of the first floor serve as the coffee shop lounge where there are plenty of tables and outlets to work with. The ambiance is perfect for those that need to study and the coffee is good although I prefer the chocolate drinks. ☕

BRU is a good downtown coffee shop. You can get some interesting creations that the national chains don't have. But it's a strange place because they produce ONE (1) (exactly one) drink at a time. So if you show up in a group, everyone gets served at a different time. Even if you show up as a party of one, you're gonna wait. S-L-O-W service (not because they 're slow, but because their machine only lets them pull one shot of espresso at a time). The space itself is very loud because the room generates an echo. The noise can be deafening. Some people might light that. Others might prefer a more relaxing environment. If you're just dying for a cup of coffee and you happen to be nearby, BRU is probably a better choice than the national chains. But if you're looking for fast service and a relaxing atmosphere, you'll probably be happier if you choose a different coffee shop.

Really cool spot located in an elevator, just through the building's vestibule. No decaf option but the craft coffee and tea offerings were great! Very friendly barista.
