Such a nice and friendly coffee place, very welcoming atmosphere and such a good escape from all those Starbucks in the world. Sweet staff, reasonable prices and comfy seating.
Whenever going back to SAT, I'm coming back!

I love this coffee shop. The lattes are delicious and my husband loves their drip coffee. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel welcome. The space is soooooo pretty. ❤️

Nice place to relax and chat. The music is chill and not loud. The service is great and the staff are always pleasant and smiling. It is easy to see they enjoy their jobs. I overhear them talking about coffee and how to improve the customer's experience. There are delicious baked foods to go along with the coffee. I recommend the Berry Danish. The cafe has large windows that provide a lot of sunlight with a nice view of the Alta Vista neighborhood. The cafe is air-conditioned and comfortable. There is also outside seating under the branches of a beautiful, huge oaktree that must be seen in person to really appreciate it. Philocoffee is conveniently located on the corner of San Pedro Ave and West French Place, just north of the San Pedro Springs Park and San Antonio College. NOTE: I really am just a satisfied customer and not employed by Philocoffee! :)

Colorful vanilla latte, nice staff, chill atmosphere, not so crowded.

This place is a dump. Don't ever go there. My living room has a better ambiance and selection than this place.

Philo is definitely my favorite coffee shop in all of san antonio!! Their shakerado is the best coffee drink on this earth you have to try it. The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is super nice and great for studying.

This place is my absolute favorite! The staff is so amazing and the atmosphere is perfect. An iced offer and avacado toast are the perfect way to start my weekend. I highly recommend stopping by if you get the chance. You won’t regret it!

Very good espresso and super neat building. Super sweet guy working there helped me open the rediculouly heavy sliding door to the outdoor seating and was very accomodating. Everything you would want from a quaint little coffee shop

Philo is the perfect place to get some work done with a coffee by my side or to get lunch with friends. Their scones are delicious! The coffee is also reasonably priced.

I gave it two stars merely because it happens to be here. The neighborhood did need a coffee shop. But what a disappointment -- disappointment in the sense that it has turned out to be a very average place and in some respect sub-average. After all the talk in the media, many of us expected a genuine French-themed coffee shop. It does not even come close. The varieties of coffee are average (in part because the people making them don't know what they may be doing), the pastries are awfully presented (and placed in a show area that places them above your viewing) and they taste rather average. Somewhat astonishing that they would sell a rather ordinary danish for $5.00. The furniture is quite routine--bordering on cheap--and the overall ambiance not very appealing. I suspect it was all part of an effort to save money which is understandable, but being cheap has its limits. I will go there occasionally for ordinary coffee only because there is nothing else in the neighborhood, but I will not make it a regular place for me or a place to visit friends or to hold meetings.
