London Museum and cafe. The cafe has an old soda fountain with stools and tables along with a meeting room. The food was great and the staff was friendly. The museum part displays the New London school explosion in the 1930s when hundreds of students and teachers died because natural gas was odorless then. As a result, natural gas has an additive that smells like rotten eggs. The legislation for the additive took place immediately in Austin, Texas and later in the United States along with worldwide passage. Now we can live safely.

This is a very unique and interesting place. Take a tour of the museum and then eat in the Cafe which is staffed by volunteers. Enjoy the original soda fountain and bar.

"Best kept secret in East Texas" is the best description I have herd, and I agree!! It like like taking a s step back in time with people who lived it many years before our time, with many of the original pieces like the fountain machine, and the original stools to sit on. It's unlike any place you will ever visit!

I could spend hours just looking at everything and reading about every item

Fascinating local history with delightfully nice people working there. Wonderful little cafe there as well. Real home cooked lunch!

People are very friendly and the food is great and the prices are unbeatable. I want to thank everyone at the museum for being so kind to our group of Navy veterans.

This is a forgotten tragedy in Texas. Museum is nice, though a reminder of an event that, I am sure, devestated this town. Worth the stop. Places like this all over the US. Don't miss this.
