This hotel reminded me of the ones that are in New Orleans. Chandelier in the room. We were visiting my sister-in-law who lives in the area. Therefore, we didn't bring an overnight bag. The hotel is a little on not being up with the times. There's a thank you bag in the room, and I would have liked a mini tube of toothpaste or mouth wash. Or makeup remover. The front desk should carry phone/device chargers. My phone was dead, and the front desk person was super sweet and helped me out. And/or have a shelf where I could have purchased those items like some hotels have. For the price of $400 and not even get breakfast is more than over priced even for the area. During slow or off season, the price should be a lot less. But overall, nice.

A stay at The P.A. Smith Hotel is a must! Go to an event, staycation or weekend getaway. Book your party, event or wedding, you’ll be pampered!
The curated decor is amazing, something special around every turn.
The chandeliers are breathtaking and the custom fabrics in the rooms are simply stunning. The furniture is amazing and the colors from the lobby to the Speakeasy are spectacular.

Beautiful hotel. We didn’t stay at the hotel but walked through the luxurious lobby to visit Hamer Speakeasy. The bar has such an amazing vibe and the drinks are delicious. We will definitely be back. (Oh and super friendly staff too!)

Have not stayed in the hotel but Hamer’s speakeasy is cool! Drinks are strong but good and workers are so friendly!!

I had a wonderful opportunity to stay at the P.A. Smith Hotel with some friends. The Penthouse was AWESOME! The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the detail throughout the hotel was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be returning!

Beautiful, well appointed room. Truly one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Music in the lobby with heavy hors d'oeuvres and cash bar made it fun. You could definitely hear the music throughout the hotel though. If you want quiet don't go on a music night. It did end by 10:00 p.m. though. The restaurant was not yet open and there are not a lot of options yet in navasota. Once their restaurant opens it will be fabulous!

The hotel is AMAZING! Truly beautiful. We partied here for Valentine's the staff as welcoming and solved problems quickly. The food was gourmet and delicious and my group had an absolute blast. We will definitely be returning!

Susanna, Jacob, Eli and Nick took great care of me tonight at the hotel bar (Hamer’s) while I dealt with some automotive issues. If you need a cool place to chill this is it! I can’t say that I’ll necessarily will be back in Navasota again but this cozy little bar is a reason I’d consider staying in the hotel for a chill weekend.

Built in 1876, this beautiful building was the P.A. Smith hotel for over a decade. Both a Texas, and National historic place, the former hotel has been purchase by Janice and Steve Scheve who promise to turn her back in to a beautiful hotel. According to the Examiner, the hotel is slated to open sometime in 2020.
The following text is taken from the National Register of Historic Places:
The three story structure is constructed of rough limestone rubble with cast iron facade at the first floor
and cast iron sills and arched decorative lintels on the second and third floor . The front facade is capped with a pressed tin cornice. The openings on the north and east facades have stone segmented arch lintels and cast iron sills . The east or rear facade has been stuccoed (sic). All of the exterior windows are six over six lites (sic).
