Jo's Downtown

This coffee shop is highly rated for good reason. SO good and the staff is so friendly. The barista said several times that if I wasn't satisfied with the drink, or it wasn't what I expected, to come and see her again and she will make me a new one. Obviously I didn't need to do that because the Black bear frozen coffee was excellent. I live in Fort Worth, so I don't get to enjoy this every day, but I would come here all the time if I lived in Mt. Pleasant. Such a cool environment.

My family and I have been coming here for months and we've NEVER had a bad experience. Not only are they amazingly friendly but they always make us feel like we're their favorite customer. I love that they offer seasonal drinks because we always find a new favorite.

We were on our way through town and decided to stop at Jo’s for some coffee and a quick bite. It was so disappointing. There were about a dozen other customers in the cafe, but we were the only ones ordering at the time. Even so it took three employees around 15 minutes to make our three drinks. The bathrooms were terrible. They smelled so strongly of urine I had to hold my breath and there was toilet paper scattered all over the floor. We ended up throwing away two of our drinks because we couldn’t stomach them. We would’ve been better off getting something from the gas station. Usually I don’t leave negative reviews, but this place was BAD.

I'm sitting here drinking a Southern Nog, which is a seasonal, holiday drink. I've been to Jo's off and on for about 3 months and the service and the quality has dramatically improved.

Service: Very friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about their product. Time to get served around 5 minutes even during peak hours.

Quality: Again the straight black coffee I've had of late no longer tastes like hot water but has a bold rich flavor. Other coffees, what I call "chick coffees", which are your lattes and other mixed coffees are very good. As mentioned previously, the Southern Nog is amazing. Makers Mark that has been heated and this alcohol removed, has a nice flavor mixed in with egg nog.

The WiFi is pretty good with very little to no lag. Definite a great place for freelancers to setup office and work remote.

Jo's is a place that I now love to come to.

COVID Update:

This place is still open and on this Saturday is popping. Coffee is good, and if you worried about exposure, entire staff wears masks.

Great place do to business or Relax! The baristas are excellent as well as very friendly. The atmosphere is laid back and you never know who is going to stop by to play a tune on the piano. They have a ton of events for the whole family!

I enjoyed this coffee shop with a chilled ambience . Their burritos and smoothies are great. Their staff is very friendly.

Just passing through to Louisiana. Ordered a cortado. There was 0 foam. Which is fine. But if you’re paying $6 for a drink I wish it would be done right. Ladies at the counter were very nice.

I have been to Jo’s coffee shop several times and I love it!! 😍 They are always so friendly and are always willing to make their customers happy! They also serve all their drinks with a smile ! 😊 If you have not tried their coffee you must go visit! You will not be disappointed!!😊

Best coffee shop around!! The bootlegger is my go to, and I love that the baristas just know what I want when I walk in. The atmosphere is great, and I can get a lot of work done if I need to, or sit and chat with a friend. The upstairs area is also great for baby showers, luncheons, wedding showers, bible studies, you name it.
