I have to call this a 3.5… so I have rounded it down to 3 stars. The staff is good, not excellent. The food is good if you like primarily fried food. The seating and atmosphere is tepid at best. Not the cleanest restaurant around. The menu is very limited.

We needed to eat so I read reviews of a lot of restaurants in Jacksonville. We picked The Patio because it offered a variety of seafood that isn't common in Jacksonville and for the most part the reviews were complimentary. I am so glad we did! We started with a very generous size basket of fried okra which are hands down my favorite okra in town! I had the grilled flounder and shrimp plate and my husband had the fried catfish and fried shrimp plate. The flounder was tender and flaky and very tasty. The shrimp were very large and meaty, cooked perfectly. The veggies and rice were also very tasty and cooked perfectly. The fried shrimp were large flavor bombs of crispy awesomeness! The catfish was lacking in flavor but cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back to try other dishes. The staff was helpful and attentive. Highly recommend others to try this little treasure of a restaurant.

TERRIBLE BUSINESS OWNER
I was very unhappy with this place. I ordered the stuffed salmon and the entire bottom was burnt. I tried to eat it but the taste was horrible and it was incredibly dry. I told the waitress I wasn’t going to eat it and to just take it off my tab. The owner said that they would not take it off the tab I had to pay for half of it and they sent it back to my table. I said I was not going to eat it and to take it away and I overheard the owner say to the waitress she would call the cops if I didn’t pay. The waitress came to me again with the plate of food and said she wasn’t trying to cause trouble but the owner would not take it. I said I would pay for half of the dish like the owner was requiring but I would be giving a bad review. Never did the owner come out to talk to us or even offer to re-make the salmon. Instead they put the poor waitress in the middle of it. We paid for the food that I did not eat and generously tipped the waitress but I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. Was very disappointed.

Food is always amazing. BUT.. now they put up a sign in an out of the way place saying all prices have gone up $1.00 from menu price. But you can't see the sign and the staff doesn't tell you. Then when you get the bill the cost of everything is outrageous and more than a dollar over the menu price. The staff is left to deal with the outrage because the owner acts like she doesn't speak English and refuses to talk to customers. Turns out the owner put new prices for the staff to enter but hasn't change the menu even tho it has been a problem for almost a year! This is clearly just a way to take advantage of customers. Our $60 lunch ended up with us being charged $81.00!! As long as we as customers let this go it will just continue! Don't let people take your hard earned money. And dont blame the staff, its the owner taking advantage. We will not be back!

You should not have to threaten dissatisfied people with calling the police to get them to pay the check.
The wife and I went in to sample their seafood. (we love fried seafood)
The fish and shrimp are decent, needs more flavor.
The wife's baked potato "tasted off" and she would not eat it. We told the waiter (who looked like a 16-17 yr old boy) and asked if we could replace the side with something else. He went and asked and said he was told "No".
There is a $2 upcharge for the potato, and when we went to pay, asked that it be removed. We watched the guy start to argue with the little old lady in the back for a second, and he came back and told us we would have to pay or she would call the Police.
I say "Go for it" and she immediately changed her mind and took off the $2.
Will Not Go Back.
(p.s. - I tipped the waiter well and while the two teenagers that were running the front did a decent enough job on their own, they need a little better training, probably from someone that cares more for their clientele.

Both the food and the service here are good, but they have a problem with prices. Last time we were here, they charged me for an item that I didn’t order. This time, every item was a dollar higher than the price listed on the menu. Apparently there’s a sign on the front door, and where you go to pay, but no mention of this on the menu itself—the ONE place it should be displayed. Displaying one price on the menu and charging a higher price is fraud.

Donut was soft and delicious! We got four of the small sausage and cheese kolaches and they were SO good. They have that sweet bread *chefs kiss*. We also got a caramel iced coffee and a white mocha iced coffee which were a little too overwhelmingly sweet but still pretty good! I will ask for less sweet next time. Will be returning next time I’m in town.

Good food. It is what you would expect from a fast food seafood restaurant. The fish was cooked well and tasted very good. The shrimp were a nice size. The home made hand cut French fries were an extremely pleasant surprise. Service was very good and an overall pleasant experience.

Great seafood. Tasty. Good crowd on a Monday noon. The fried shrimp and oysters were just right.
5-27-20 We went in for lunch and it was great! All the Rona advisories were followed. Tasty!
