Davis Street Espresso

This is a go to place for me!! Quaint and quality! Home vibes and very thoughtful in the way they craft coffee and bake goods. Fun patio, delicious coffee, pastries and toast! Great place to meet a friend or take your family. You really can’t go wrong with anything here (though I love it when they have the chocolate chip scones). 😀

The coffee was really good! I think it was a mocha that I got. I don't remember what it was called though but it was sweet! It's not as good as Starbucks but I liked it! I'd come back a second time!

So lovely. Enjoyed the Van Buren and the delicious smells! There’s no WiFi, but, that makes it a great place to get some reading and writing done. I look forward to returning.

I hopped on here to leave a review but all of the recent negative reviews caught my eye. I'm so surprised because they don't reflect the experience I have had at this shop, and they also seem to be people that knowingly visited a coffee shop that is known for their high level of concern Isfahan quality then they criticize the shop for something they knew about going into the experience? Wack, don't listen to them. It's like going to a nice winery and complaining that they treat it like 'two-buck chuck.'

That said, I frequently talk with people who visit DFW from out of state, and they know I'm a coffee guy so they ask me what the best coffee shop in DFW is....to which I respond with a simple question, what are you looking for in a coffee shop?
If you're looking for a sugary dessert drink there are a dime a dozen, if you're looking for something niche I got a spot or two, but if you're looking for the best of the best tasting coffee that is simple, no frills, and freshly roasted...this...this is the spot.
The baristas care a lot, ask them what they recommend, hear what they have to say, and enjoy!

The place definitely has good potential, but some of this place's quirks border on pretentious.

So let's start with the good: the drip and pour-overs are nice, and there's no doubt that when it comes to knowledge of coffee, the friendly staff knows what they are talking about. The space is also really well appointed and comfortable.

As for the less good... they offer no alternative milks (whole milk only) and will not pull any decaf espresso - they don't even carry it. When the person in front of me asked why, they said "to keep the coffee pure and make sure it doesn't have any additives that interfere with the coffee experience."

Hey, I respect the craft, but lots of people can't drink whole milk, for various reasons. There are plenty of alternatives that stay natural without additives, so this choice, to me, is more about a pretentious "holier than thou" idea of coffee rather than trying to stay true to the bean.

Again, good potential, but they need to be more in tune with their neighborhood.

So lucky to have this place in my neighborhood! They sell great beans at a good price, the staff are friendly, the aesthetic is warm and comfortable, and the daily rotation of pastries, treats and other beverages is really good. By far the best in Oak Cliff (and, yes, I've tried them *all*).

I love this place! Every Friday they graciously host November Project after our morning run. Daniel is always there to help us by creating a great experience. Always good service 💯

Recently, they added a lot to their menu.
