Hester's Cafe Lamar Park

Good lunch. I had the Ruben. The breakfast was bad. Mushrooms in omlette had balsamic vinegar ruining the taste. Eggs were over easy when we wanted hard. Toast was stale like a cruton and not warm making the butter not melt.
My food was pretty awesome. They make great lunch but avoid the breakfast food.

Good food and service. Decent prices. Their homemade chips are so good.

They are so good at adjusting their dishes to my vegan lifestyle. Always friendly and good food. This is my favorite location due to the outdoor seating area. The birds are friendly enough to approach you for food.

Corpus Christi, you need more of this in your life. Get on it. Like now.

When you walk into Hester's, the aroma of breakfast and coffee greet you with a warm welcome, and an immediate feeling of comfort. Maybe because it was cold outside? Maybe because of nostalgia? I don't know what it was, but this place feels amazing.

To start, the coffee menu. I went twice during my 2 days there, and got the latte of the day each time. It never fails to disappoint! I'm sure if I lived there, the latte of the day would be every freaking day.

The food was really some of the best I've had in a long time. I highly recommend the Ella Fitzgerald or the Duke Ellington. And not just for the names! The taste, quality, and love that goes into this food is absolutely phenomenal. The eggs are perfectly cooked and seasoned, the bacon is thick and delicious, and the potatoes?! Red potatoes!! Uuuuffff... so good. So pumped about that.

In a land of food that fails to excite, Hester's is standing out as a killer place to hang for breakfast and brunch. I'd ask them to move to Austin, but it seems like they're doing all right! I'll make an effort to stop by every time I'm in town now.

The staff are nice but there's a lot of cross contamination in the food. I have had cheese put on two things I've ordered without it. I've had bits of eggs mixed into pasta that shouldn't have scrambled eggs in it. It's a good place but the grill or something isn't separated or cleared off enough between meals they're preparing.

This has happened enough that I'm just not going to be going back because I end up waiting for my food to be fixed or just packing it up for someone to eat later and having to get food elsewhere later.

Super busy but still fairly swift. The food was really good and the atmosphere was pleasant (at least outside. Inside was packed and quite loud)

Outdoor patio atmosphere was relaxing excellent especially on a partly cloudy ⛅day. Latte coffees ☕ smooth taste & the lemon blueberry cheesecake was delightfully delicious.

This place has great food, delicious baked goods, and great customer service. I go to hesters no less than once a month. It can get a little busy and loud but its more than worth it. Their coffee is always good. I love their hesters Latte and the mocha.

My favorite Hester’s location! Beautiful scenery- AND to top it off they serve mimosas (only at this location). The chicken tortilla soup is heavenly alongside their dark chocolate pie. It tends to be busy during lunch. If you plan to go with a group plan before or after their lunch rush. Manager specials are available daily. Staff is always super friendly!

I stopped by today and got a sandwich, crab burger, and rainforest smoothie. For the price point, it's over priced even for an all natural ingredients. The taste was bland for all three and their usual on the side salad. The customer service was horrible from the cashiers and the manager. This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to food-wise and for its immature and plain mean customer service of all places I've been to in the United States. Going to this place was like going to a car dealership and dealing with their deception. I think people rave about this place more for its ambiance than anything else but save your money because all natural food should tasted good and it should actually taste like food!

This is not my first time at Hester but it will be my last at this location. I can't imagine going back with the horrible customer experience I had today. This location is terrible with the food menu like their Carmen pasta was really weird. Their sweets are loaded with masses of sugar. It's funny how they serve healthy food then they serve really unhealthy treats on the side; it's definitely a temptation if you want to stay healthy and fit. And I see other people ordering desserts too. It's definitely mind numbing when you go there because you don't really think if it's good for you, you just look at what looks good. But other locations has more tastier food items on their menu like their fairchild sandwhich and I had a decent experience there.

Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. It's just people who are friends of the business and do it to build good rapport rather than give their actual honest opinions that would benefit you.
