I ordered the flour tortilla taco with chorizo and egg and it was really good! The tortilla is a perfect size and it doesn't get hard fast like it does in some other coffee shops. I recommend this place!

I do love the food but the staff is less than professional. If you can be patient and not expect to be waited on....the food and price are worth it!!! Note ambience needs updating.

I was expecting "the best menudo" as quoted by other reviews. The customer service was so bad, a lady took our order then I saw her arguing about something then they sent a young man over. The menudo was mostly meat even after we ordered more hominy than meat. We also ordered two bread and one tortilla order and they brought out all tortilla. Service was slow. There was only us and another table. The menudo was the most flavorless that I have ever tasted. The pozole was not good. Worst $30.00 ever spent. I just moved to Brownsville so I was really hoping this would be the "best menudo". I usually don't care about the decor. But this place has gone way out of its way to make the place look tacky. I understand budget cuts and all but come on, I've seen cute things at the dollar tree that could make this place look better. Oh, and they didn't bring napkins my husband had to get up and ask for some. Never again!

I've gotten wayyyyy slower than I remember as a child but I usually only see 3 waitstaff totally. I will saw this though, I love the food 😍♥️♥️ it's home but give it some time (literally) .

It was just as i remembered, and the flour tortillas taste the same as before, the best comfort food when you want Grandma's cooking.

Brownsville coffee shop your an embarrassment to Brownsville this is what you make it out to be this place is cheap and not worth anyone's money well off or peasantry too loud can't hear yourself think so claustrophobic food takes so long food has no flavor overrall if anything it deserves a 0

Our first time here after hearing such great things, but as for myself, not coming back to this place. Very poor customer service/attention.

Food is good, especially if you like old fashion mexican food. Sadly if you only speak english you will have a hard time ordering as a majority of the waitresses only speak spanish. Nothing fancy about the food or proportions. We paid $20 for a carne guisada plate that consisted of the meat, rice, beans and a tortilla, and a deluxe platter that had ground beef, 2 tacos, 2 enchiladas with rice and beans and a side of avocado. Can't say it is a great price for what proportion we got but it being open 24 hours made us choose this location.

I have been going to this restaurant many years since around mid 80s and have always loved the food along with the friendly staff. Prices affordable.
