Try Hard Coffee Roasters

this became my local watering hole while i was staying in austin. the coffee is really good, there’s a great selection of other drinks, and the pastries are good, too. really loved this cafe and loved the DJ in the morning + lots of vinyl to buy :)

the coffee takes a bit of time, so be prepared to hang out for a bit.

Really good tacos, coffee, & eclectic ambiance. I just wish the line was shorter & indoors didn’t feel as cramped.

Terrible coffee drinks quality, customers smoking cigarettes and marijuana, terrible air conditioning and no shaded spots to sit, and very loud music. Try Hard is the worst cafe I’ve ever been to in North America.

Hidden gem, chill vibe with good internet and excellent coffee. Great outdoor space in the back to work. 10/10 recommend

Don't skip if you want a great experience for both great coffee and food. The tacos are on the spicy side; so ask for mild if you're a wimp ;)

This is a really great place to hang out downtown. The tacos are absolutely delicious and they have vegetarian and vegan options. The coffee is also wonderful and the staff are very kind. It can get a bit loud with the dj, coffee machines, ordering, and open kitchen, so if you want to chat with anybody or focus on your computer I suggest sitting outside or grabbing your food and drink to go. It's definitely worth a visit!

Try Hard is 🔥. Their batch brew is great! The space is a blend of eclectic 80s-inspired nicknacks and music and with lots of happy plants. Additionally, the staff are super friendly! Sure, the food is pricy but it’s GOOD. I will continue to return to Try Hard whenever I roll through Austin. I recommend you do, too!

Oh boy what can I say, I guess they forgot to try hard on the "coffee" part of their business (I'm European so I know good coffee). My iced mocha was much closer to iced milk water, I guess didn't have any coffee or chocolate that day? Then they served my friend's hot matcha latte with ice cubes in it for some reason, and it wasn't even green! The barista looked high as a kite too, so maybe that was just her doing her best, who am I to judge? It's the effort that counts after all! You're not paying for good coffee, you're paying for the effort! If you wanted lazy good coffee you'd go somewhere else this is Try Hard, not Starbucks!

But I gotta say while it's pretty clear they don't really try that hard on their coffee you can tell they sure tried hard on all the decorations. The outdoor patio is very aesthetic, it even has cute little disco balls! So rest assured you can at least get some nice pictures for the gram while you're sipping on your milk water pretending to be doing work on your laptop while smoking your "cbd" joints and blowing your weed cloud all over everyone else at the cafe!

I heard about this place on Instagram, and really do not regret coming here at all! The staff were extra friendly/accommodating in communicating with me as a deaf customer. I ordered a latte and the hummus toast. I love that they do not surcharge for the almond milk since I'm dairy free. The latte was very flavorful, not super bitter. The hummus toast is also one of the best "millennial" toasts I've ever tasted! It was full of savory flavor and slightly spicy, just the way I like it. Also, if you take the time to check out the back patio, it's such a cool place to chill out at. Lots of greenery in a relaxing atmosphere. It is perfect for brunch with friends or a date, whether with yourself or someone else. I will be coming back here for sure.

Pretty chill vibes here, great coffees, easy sit down, great patios. They also have a live DJ sometimes which is super cool!
