The Wayback is the perfect getaway in the Austin area. The grounds are immaculate, charming, and serene. The Cafe has delicious food, coffee and drinks. We always try to sit on the back porch for the views of Hill Country and they sometimes have live music, it doesn’t get much better than that. The cottages are decorated to perfection and the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The salt water pool is the perfect escape to the Texas heat. I can’t say enough amazing things about the Wayback. Owned and operated by two incredible women, they are doing everything right.

The Wayback has got to be one of the cutest hidden gems in Austin. Their cafe is cozy and simply decorated, the cottages are stylish and spacious, and the property has so much natural beauty it's unreal. I am a wedding planner and did an event there and was highly impressed with the helpfulness of the staff and the space itself!

I've been following the wayback on Instagram a while....inspiring posts!! We were finally able to stop in today. Enjoyed a nice glass of Cava with gorgeous fish tacos. Honestly, it reminded me a little of Antibes in the south of France. Beautiful grounds and lovely atmosphere!! Will be planning a staycation soon....can't wait!!

The Way Back is a hidden gem located near EVERYTHING that is Austin. 15 minutes to downtown, 5 minutes from Lake Austin, 10 minutes from Lake Travis, 5 minutes from HillCountry Galleria, yet it sits in a peaceful quite grove of trees And you feel like you are away from everything. Very peaceful and relaxing. The cottages are luxurious and beautiful and spacious. There is a wonderful cafe on site and the business is run by a mother and daughter team that makes sure your stay in wonderful. I can’t say enough about this place. Love it! Whether you are coming to Austin for a family getaway, a romantic getaway, a trip with friends or business, you really need to check this place out!

The Management team ruins this place. We got there and the manager came and knocked on our door and we thought she was going to go over the property with us but she asked if we drove a certain car; so we decided to ask her about Covid precautions and she looked at us like we were crazy. Then we went to the restaurant to get our 22 month something to eat and the location says kid friendly but there was no kids menu and when we asked for one or a smaller portion of the menu item, once again the manager had an attitude and said she is going to charge the regular because. So we got a parfait with canned peaches and a piece of fig for $14 bucks. Additionally, my husband booked this hotel to celebrate my birthday and he had called ahead to see if there’s anything that they do for birthdays and they said no. But when we were at the location, our next-door neighbors were celebrating birthdays and the hotel manager set up a cute little picnic for them. So overall, the management team did a horrible job and ruined our experience.

The cafe has a great atmosphere, but the cost seems high for the food served, and level of service.
Everything seems to be made from scratch and is tasty, but overall kind of plain. I couldn't cut through my avocado toast. Service is very friendly, but both times we've been, very slow.
I really liked the chili the time before, and I also loved the cappuccino.

This little gem is absolute perfection. My husband and I were looking for a quiet and romantic weekend retreat and it did not disappoint. The cottages and grounds are beautiful and clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is great (especially brunch). We will definitely be returning!

This was the best place!!! Vicki was the best and friendliest. Menally was so kind and made sure our stays were special, she remembered us when we decided to stay again a week later when we arrived everything exceeded our expectations. Cafe hours change so make sure to plan a stay around the cafe being open. There was an awesome kind and friendly male pool attendant he was joking with us and kept it professional. Thanks for the side of chips for the wife. Never got the Name..... :) Keep up all the greatness. We will stay again.

Uh-MAZE-ing!! Such a special little find, hidden along Old Bee Cave Rd. You don't even notice it from the road, but this little gem is fabulous!! Food was so delicious, cocktails - just delightful and the setting so intimate.
We went for a girls-night dinner. I'm now looking for any excuse to go back & stay at one of their adorable little cabins.

Beautiful and cozy in the hill country. Our photographer Holly Marie Photography suggested this venue and it couldn't have been more perfect for the laid back hill country vibe we were going for!
Also, the watermelon margarita is DELICIOUS 🍉👌
