Went in and a small wait but I sat at the bar because it was busy. That was a Mistake, sat for quite some time before the bartender even got me a menu, and said he would get me some water. Waited and stared while he went back to the men beside me talking about his family like 2 generations back that they seemed to know about while the others at the bar got neglected and ignored. There weren't that many people at the bar, maybe 6 including me, but these 2 men and their knowledge of his family history, plus their drinks which were kept full, were more important than the few others of us there. I think the only reason they got their food was because some other waiter not assigned to the bar brought it to them. I finally had enough and left, never even getting a simple glass of water, and the worst part was these guys were beside me so I was maybe 6 feet away staring at him and he never even looked at me. However another man on the far side of the bar came up and he was down there pretty fast to help him. If being treated like you're invisible is your thing and you like men who ignore female customers, then this is your spot.

I have been here many times, the food and service is always excellent. I love their lamb burgers, and that they have pasture raised high quality meat here which can be hard to find in Sioux Falls. This is my favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls.

The food's okay. For a place highlighting the chef and at this price point, I honestly expected more quality. The view is great.
I don't see any way to reply to the owner's question other than to edit the original review, so the following was added after seeing their question and reading some of the other reviews.
I don't know what happened that night, but based on the other reviews it must not be typical. Actually, something must have been very wrong that day. We waited a very long time for bruschettas after being told the cracklins were not available, had an apple pie-tini with no evidence of any nutmeg, the ribeye was on top of a risotto gone pasty, and the broccoli was mostly stem, to the point that my wife at first thought it was the asparagus she had wanted replaced with broccoli. While I might be prone to think the chef was absent that night, that wouldn't explain the relatively basic selections of the menu. The drinks were creatively named, so that was fun. And duck is not on most local menus, but the rest is easily found around town.
I can only base my review on our experience and was disappointed. I hope for the sake of our little economy that it was a fluke.

The most delicious scallops I have tasted anywhere in the United States, and I have had many! Wonderful service. Some of the very best food in Sioux Falls and a great location by the river with a close up view of the massive Arc of Dreams sculpture.

I absolutely do recommend this Irish pub. Delicious authentic Irish food!! My last name is McCarty so I do know Irish food! The bar tender Canton( who I think is also the owner) was a very attentive server!!
I don’t live in SD but if I did I would be a regular!!

Lovely restaurant downtown. We arrived just after six and were able to sit immediately at a high top in the bar area. We were greeted promptly and the host brought waters right away. Our server was the bartender who had lots of people at the bar in addition to us but managed to make us feel like we were one of her only parties and was always attentive and prompt with refills. Our party ordered a side of sweet potato chips to munch on while we waited for our food and they were absolutely delightful and large enough to share. For dinner we had the scallops, max burger, and the pork chop. There is not a single thing to say against the food - to say each of our dishes was perfect does not do it justice. For dessert we ordered the toffee creme brulee and the banana habanero ice cream. The creme brulee was excellent and the ice cream was delicious, although it ended up being a little too hot for me but I am pretty pathetic when it comes to heat and the rest of the table was fine. We will absolutely be returning for some of the best food in town!

Visited Ode with a group of 14. Reservation was a must. Drinks were fair priced. Entrées were high priced and had small portions. Burgers with a side was standard to above standard portion size. The quality of food was great. Everyone had good things to say about their meal other than the portion size. All the guys in our group were still hungry when we left. There was soft live music that was playing which was really cool! The restaurant is in a nice part of town near the river.
