We rolled into Anchor Grille on our way to Sturgis. We were looking for somewhere to hangout, and have a beer while we waited the rain out. Margie was kind enough to let us hang out in the bar, even tho the bar wasn't open yet. She was so nice to us, then her husband Darren, he chatted with us while we were hanging out. Very nice people, very nice place, very nice experience. We stopped back in the following week on our way home for breakfast. The food was pretty good, service was good. We are putting the Anchor Grille on our list for next time!! Thank you Margie and Darren!!

Great price on hot wings 50c. Allowed our 🐕 doggy in and gave a bowl for water. Very friendly. Had my favorite dish, goulash. The chocolate malt was amazing.

Nothing exciting going on here folks.
The burgers & fries were good. What would have made them great is if they were a couple of bucks less or even excellent, if they were organic for the same price.
If you ever find yourself in this tiny town, you too will question how folks around here can effort to pay $20 for a 12oz steak?
We joked that the back room is for the locals, complete with their own lower-priced menu.
Again, at those prices, just average.

After a less than satisfying stop at Als Oasis, we decided to go elsewhere. We were NOT disappointed!! The Anchor was amazing! I had a perfectly cooked ribeye and my daughter had the pretzel burger...so good! And the service was phenomenal! Definitely check out this hidden gem when in the Chamberlain/Oacoma area! Its worth the extra drive off the interstate...you wont be disappointed!

In his great American road trip travel book, Blue Highways, William Least Heat-Moon says you can judge a town diner by the number of the calendars it has on the wall.

While I think the idea of multiple calendars on the wall of an establishment might be a bit out of date, Anchor Grille has one good sized calendar from a local business on the wall, marking this place as a trustworthy establishment.

I stopped for breakfast before a long drive ahead. Friendly service and good simple food. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed breakfast the typical fair eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, sausage links, and french toast. All the food was freshly prepared and done perfectly. Service was fast and very friendly. We will happly stop here again. Thank you

The staff was nice and I really enjoyed the environment. I didn't expect much, just maybe some good hometown food. It was far from that. The only thing that wasn't low quality or gross was my sons milk. My wife's crispy chicken sandwich was worse than elementary school food. It was thin and floppy and probably came straight from the microwave. I'm not exaggerating. I had a buffalo burger and had jalapeños added. The burger came out looking dry and old. Like the chicken, my guess is that it was heated or reheated in the microwave. The jalapeños had a bad taste, similar to the smell of mildew. I am extremely easy to please and not picky by any means. With that said, I would never come back here or recommend this place.

Let's not forget, like others said, you are paying premium food prices, but getting low quality food.

Good service. Pleasant staff. Our lunch was very good! Would definitely order their tacos again and next time we will try the deep fried snicker dessert or homemade pie!

We took the reviewer's ratings and decided to try it for breakfast. We were greeted when we walked in and we're told we could sit wherever we wanted to. My husband had an omelette with everything in it. They offered both rye and sourdough toast options. The pancakes were generous, well raised, and fluffy. My basted eggs were perfectly cooked. But most importantly, our server kept our coffee cups full without needing to be reminded. Definitely recommend Anchor Grille.

Waitresses seemed new and was not really fast or efficient. waited too long to get menu, then drinks, then food. Our quick stop lunch took over 90 minutes. Cooks were slow.

If you don't mind the wait the food was good and a good value, just left angry because of how long it took.
